Humble mouse turns 40 and loses its touch
    balthazarus
    by balthazarus  12-2-2008    3
"The mouse now faces unprecedented competition. Laptops which make no use of a mouse are an increasingly popular alternative to desktop computers for workers on the move. Apple's popular iPhone and Nintendo's Wii have shown the potential for touchscreens and movement sensors. HP is pushing a mouse-less TouchSmart PC. Microsoft has invested millions of dollars in a coffee table-shaped 'Surface' computer which responds to natural hand gestures, touch and physical objects." And still it has done its job in making computers more accessible... happy birthday :-)

    Science Screensavers-Quotes,photos, and Bizarre headlines
    pokkets
    by pokkets  10-18-2007    1
There are famous quotes, nature photos, and bizarre headlines screensavers. I've clipped the windows download links, and there is a winzip download at the site. There are also macintosh versions. They work on Windows XP although I can't see it mentioned. The quotes are great, and refresh after a few seconds. the pictures are also great. The headlines? I can't do better than bizarre. The pictures are winners in a nature photography competition run by the site. The file name for the quote screensaver, is Adx I had trouble finding it, but the name shows in the box, when they're installed

    If Microsoft Made Cars
    pinkpaws
    by pinkpaws  11-12-2007
     8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna. 9. Every time a new car was introduced, car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again, because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car. 10. Oh yeah, and last but not least . . . you'd have to press the "Start" button to turn the engine off!
