POPSJudging Candidates by Their Logos Let’s talk campaign logos, shall we? Tiny, simple and usually ignored, these logos contain the very essence of the candidates, distilled into their purest form. In these logos we view their souls. Overwrought? yes; but they are still our subject, mainly because it’ll be fast and easy to do. So! Onward and upwards!

POPSImpeachment is rightful course - G. McGovern McGovern says that American democracy has been "derailed" by the administration's commitment to "a murderous, illegal, nonsensical war against Iraq … done without the declaration of war from Congress that the Constitution clearly requires, in defiance of the U.N. Charter and in violation of international law. This reckless disregard for life and property, as well as constitutional law, has been accompanied by the abuse of prisoners, including systematic torture, in direct violation of the Geneva Conventions of 1949." Impeach! Can we impeach Pelosi also? She is an accessory after the fact, maybe even more.

POPSImpeachment Hearings: A Win Is a Win
I go for the second interpretation of events. It is clear, as was beautifully laid out in an article published by Glenn Greenwald in Salon magazine on July 15, that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and the rest of the Democratic Party leadership both in Congress and in the party organization, have been blocking any action on impeachment for fear of having their own complicity in Bush’s and Cheney’s crimes revealed. As Greenwald notes, the Washington Post has reported that Pelosi, along with Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) and Rep. Jane Harman (D-CA) were briefed on the administration’s use of torture and not only didn’t object, but actively encouraged it. Rockefeller and Harman, who at the time were minority leaders of the Senate and House Intelligence Committees at the time, were also briefed about Bush’s order to the National Security Agency to conduct warrantless spying on Americans. They didn’t object or publicly expose this blatant violation of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance A

POPSSomeone is listening - Impeach We've waited seven years to find one Member of Congress brave enough to stand up for our Constitution, for which generations of Americans have fought and died," Fertik said. "We are thrilled and honored that Dennis Kucinich has chosen to be that one genuine patriot." Just a little political clip which i could not resist since Dennis's name jumped out at me. Now I'm back to my vacation from political and stressful clips.

POPS36 Congress Members for Impeachment The Cheney impeachment is really gaining momentum. I hope they impeach all of them; the US needs to restore it's image with other countries. A great deal of damage control is needed, so I just wish they would move faster before Bush writes some more "executive orders" and the dictatorship prevails.

POPSRescuing Our Constitution The article is too long to give it a really meaningful clip here. Link to the full article to appreciate and put into perspective the shenanigans of the Bush Crime Family.

POPSUS General Accuses Bush Administration of War Crimes In light of ongoing Congressional investigations into so-called harsh interrogation techniques, and on the heels of Congressman Dennis Kucinich recently issuing articles of impeachment accusing President Bush of, among other offenses, authorizing torture, we present Taguba's latest statement for your consideration. The full Physicians for Human Rights report outlining the medical evidence of torture perpetrated by the United States can be read at their website.

POPSImpeachment Against Bush Introduced the Senate Intelligence report recently lends solid ground (see previous Clipmark): Article 1 - Creating a secret propaganda campaign to manufacture a false case for war against Iraq." Go to the Raw Story article to view the video of its introduction by Kucinich. Sad state of affairs, when a Congressman has to fight his own party Speaker to get the House to order and serious-mindedness about upholding the laws of the land!

POPSKucinich Uses July 4 to Call for 'Rule of Law' Good on him. CNN put out a poll today showing that 69% think "the signers of the Declaration of Independence would be disappointed by the way the nation has turned out overall." Seems to me there's a way to fix that.

POPSBuried on the Net, Impeachment today... I can't explain how long & difficult it was to find a report of this, yet it happened in the House Of Reps (thank you Susan Keith of Georgia For Democracy for alerting me on Facebook!)

POPSWillie Nelson Wants to See Bush Impeached
Country singer Willie Nelson wants to impeach Bush and "Throw the bastards out." However, he does not see the Democrats as a viable alternative considering how they have not done a thing to change direction in Iraq and keeps caving into Bush. He feels the deck is stacked against the people. Ya know what? I think he has a good point. The only hope I think the county really has right now is to elect Senator Obama as president. I honestly do not know if he will be a good president or not. However, I really believe he has the potential to be a transformational political figure and we should give him a chance to live up to that potential. He is the only candidate on the scene who can move the nation in a positive direction emotionally, and motivate them to engage themselves in the election, which is something very much lacking up 'til now. I honour the work Hillary has done and continues to do as a senator, but as president she would be back to the future.

POPSKucinich: Bush Cronies and privitization of Iraqi Oil
More: The connections between Hunt Oil Company and the Bush Administration are numerous: * Mr. Ray Hunt, CEO of Hunt Oil, acted as the finance chairman of the Republican National Committee for President George W. Bush in 2002, led the Republican National Committee's Victory Fund for President George W. Bush and personally donated $20,000 to the Committee. * Mr. Hunt contributed $100,000 toward inaugural festivities for President George W. Bush in 2001, while Hunt Consolidated contributed $250,000 toward the 2005 Bush presidential inaugural gala. * Mr. Hunt has also given generously toward construction of the Bush library by securing $35 million in additional property for the endeavor. * President George W. Bush has twice appointed Mr. Hunt to a seat on the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board (PFIAB), which is said to have access to intelligence that experts acknowledge is advantageous to the international energy interest of the Hunt Oil Company.

POPSGo get him... ...and don't stop squeezin' till he cries "I'm soooo sorry". This kind of power should never again by let loose on our country. These people have no respect for life, save their own. What's that sayin'..."Absolute power corrupts absolutely."

POPSDennis Kucinich for President On New Year’s Eve, Kucinich held the “Resolution for Peace” in New Hampshire. A party and concert began at 9 p.m in Manchester and was open to the public. It was televised on the community access channel in the area. Kucinich spent time talking about the upcoming year and also focused on the plight of the area’s homeless and how he can identify with what they are going through based on his past experiences in his childhood. He can win, if you vote for him.

POPSSix Degrees of Barack Obama I am not an Obama supporter but will probaly have to vote for him, due to the Dems marginalization of Kucinich and Edwards...but I hate this campaign to smear him, esp. by Ms. Clinton, who is looking more like a Rethuglican daily!

POPSOpen Letter to ABC Time is running out. We may as well just leave Bush in office if the media decides the candidates.
