POPSPresident Bush Urges Quick Passage of Wiretapping Bill I'm watchin' on CSPAN the debate on this bill in the House of Reps. Supporters of the House version say this will NOT give Telecoms immunity and make the 4th Amendment (right to privacy, search and siezure) virtually shredding another piece of the Constitution, like the Senate version., but if The Preznut supports it, I have my doubts.

POPSCharging by the Byte to Curb Internet Traffic Think about it--the telecoms have us by the short hairs. They also have immunity (or soon will) from prosecution for helping the Gov't spy on us if they want. We need to speak out about this, wherever possible.

The US power elite wanted this outcome and connived actively at it. As Alan Greenspan put it, “I am saddened that it is politically inconvenient to acknowledge what everyone knows: the Iraq war is largely about oil.” Poor Iraq has been looted, occupied, and disrupted by the industrialized West for a century because of the curse of its oil wealth. The Iraqi Petroleum Company was until 1929 the Turkish Petroleum Company since it began in 1912 with a concession from the Ottoman Empire, which ruled Iraq before the 1917 British conquest. POPSMuslim Woman Demands Obama Apology hahahahahahaha--the Onion strikes again--but I see that the Rethuglican hatchet men are really blasting Obama for this... and his apology was kinda lame--"some low level volunteers did it"...duh, Oh, right, Barack, I beleieve that! As far as I'm concerned the guy needs to maintain his integrity before I lose all respect for him. If he doesn't trust people with the truth, how can we believe in his message? This recent political expediency sucks!
