I found this going through people in my mailing list. What does "roam pismo" mean? Seriously, what could roam pismo possibly mean.

"an embarrassment of riches." Pitchfork is much more indie, so the fact that they gave it a good review is saying a lot.

    Haiku Review of Big Bear

    by nvizzini  11-9-2005
Big Bear is a pretty cool sounding dissonant hardcore group with a female lead vocalist. Their site has music. I found this haiku beautiful (and it's accurate).

david crowder is a mellow christian rocker -- so it's not a problem he looks goofy enough to never have groupies

Captured! By Robots comes to NYC November 18, 2005

    by nvizzini  10-20-2005
Okay, you really need to check this out--this band was started by a guy in San Fransisco who BUILT HIS OWN ARMY OF MUSIC-PLAYING ROBOTS a few years ago and tours with them. He gets on stage (his name is J-Bot) and the robots torment him (he's supposed to be in an alternate future where robots have enslaved humans) while he leads them through rock numbers, with keys, guitars, drums, and bass. Years after I heard about these guys (their seminal s/t album was released in 2001), I read in the times about a classical concert being performed by robots on violin and so forth--they totally ripped off CBR!!! Anyway, the good news is, they are coming to NYC with a NEW STAR-TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION THEMED SHOW! It's at Tribeca Rock Club 11/18/05. You have to see this stuff to believe it.
