POPSBlackpool Conservatives accused.
The sweet smell of hypocrisy wafts round Blackpool like a ruptured effluent pipe out into the Irish Sea. For years the public have ignored the murmurings of ‘irregularity’ in local politics because not a single body appeared to have the stomach or authority to confront dubious activities. The imagination with which politicians interpret rules to suit themselves is farcical and responsible for the moral cesspit that governs public perception. Where are simple ethics of Right and Wrong? Definitely not in Westminster and the country might say, not in many council offices. It is this perception that prevents perfectly decent people from entering politics and playing an active role in society. When Steve Flanigan resigned as Treasurer of the Blackpool South Conservatives, there was not a murmur. The fact that a leading councillor had received donations of £250 from the late George Thompson of the Pleasure Beach and had chosen not to immediately declare it to the Treasurer is and was

POPSPerfect Blackpool politics Prospective MP Bell of the Conservative Party was unavailable for comment; as he has on every issue of worth ofr several decades. Peter Callous continues to irritated pensioners whilst his colleagues in Council travel First Class to meeting they probably do not need to attend, and others to countries they need not visit. Not that the Labour dross are any better. Their prostate glands would be fine if they were left for their natural functions.

POPSPriority for injured soldiers? I will believe this when I see it. Seven years ago I was the sole voice screaming at the inequities of council decisions made in Blackpool. The Council had issued an edict which placed former servicemen in 17th place on page two of their discussion paper on housing. When I raised this issue with the Ex Servicemen’s Association and the Royal Marines Association I was told I was out of order and out of line. Now sense has prevailed and these worthless bodies realised that it is the serving man (and woman) who is always the priority and not their self indulgent selves, I would like to say I told you. The facts are that the majority of former service associations are not worth a fart in moral and ethical standards- in my opinion- says it all. When political association takes priority over the camaraderie of old pals it shows the depths that society has sunk. Well done Help for Heroes. The tragedy is that you have to exist at all.

POPSMore about MP's expenses 10. Council tax With the average annual council tax bill set to increase to £1,414 from next month, many struggling pensioners will be interested to learn that MPs do not have to pay council tax on their second homes. They can, of course claim it on expenses. By Lauren Thompson

POPSInternecine warfare breaks out on the Left As a young family man you too can live in dank, rat infested accommodation, spend years away from your family, have no say in the inequities you see and be prepared to die for a politician who knowingly lies to you and the nation. This is the truth about the left and all its supporters.

POPSGhost train or gravy train Ghost train, easy money, unaccounted hand-outs, unaccountable councillors, pink rags over the Town Hall, ex servicemen living on the street while non-contributory lesbians play the system for all its worth. Molyneux Drive has a mixture of decent retirees, alcoholics who brag they have spent a lifetime playing the system and stroll their dogs whilst former soldiers don't claim their legal entitlements and scrat for their next meal. Who voted these people into the Council? AND WHY?

POPSBlackpool Teachers Message. If the message has not already reached the Council, let me put it in English. Your town is a dump thanks to consecutive councils. Don't believe me! Walk down Bolton Street, Bond Street, Little Beirut, around the Clarendon Road district, or just go hunting for a decent dress shop, a class restaurant or a promenade that is not ankle deep in doggy parcels.

POPSIs Blackpool an Offending Council? To watch and listen to Peter Callow the answer has to be yes. Just about every utterance seems to be anti-pensioner, propaganda, spin and listen to me. When the Conservative council can tell me exactly how many former soldiers are in need of housing, why they have done nothing to improve the once Golden Mile in the past 60 years, why they are chasing small business out of town and have allowed Beirut to flourish in the back streets, then I might just start listening to them.

POPSA Tax by any other name
As Blackpool degenerates into a world of gobbledegook, spin and down right ridiculous proposals, it is fast becoming a laughing stock. First, the Councillors want to prevent pensioners coming to the resort who take advantage of their bus passes. Let's get facts straight. If you travel to Blackpool from say Wigan, the journey can take you up to three hours. The ten pounds saved on fares is then spent in the cafes and eateries on the Coast, benefiting the whole of the Fylde on not just Blackpool Beirut. A walk through Fleetwood last Tuesday was a stroll through a ghost town. If St Annes Airport - the map says it is within the boundary of the borough - is a liability and non-commercial, let it close. A message for Peter Callow, leader of the increasingly inept Conservative regime, the No 7 is the ghost bus you can't see on St Annes Road. Put your hand out and it will get soaked as you wait for the worst scheduled run in Blackpool. The No's 14 and 5 are so filled with prams that d

POPSBaby P: the evidence grows Labour will close Parliament early and stay on holiday longer. We are in an economic crisis of Gordon Brown's making. A child murdered and it appears easier to have save his life than let it expire, but all we will get is another useless inquiry. If 80 head teachers think that Sharon Shoesmith is doing a good job, then perhaps they too should reflect on their competence?

POPSLabour rotting away?
The only person I have heard eulogising over this pathetic British Government was a former artilleryman, a Labour Councillor on Blackpool's council, in a so-called debate on selecting 12 Rgt RA as Blackpool's adopted regiment. He made me want to vomit. Had his 9 years service not taught him to think for himself? From that performance it appears very unlikely. The debate was an insult to intelligent oratory . It culminated in the heroic Major of the Conservative Party giving the worst two minute speech ever heard. The soporific mutterings were almost intelligible because the Chambers seemed to be engrossed in the fact that they may get more expenses as fresh legislation had just been introduced, requiring the Council to form a fresh licensing committee. If you think Westminster stinks, take a night off and go and visit your local council chamber. The great pity is that too few people attend these public events. You can also speak, if you apply to do so. try it, you cannot do a

POPSLabour's respect for the Forces
How many other people have the courage to say to this Liberal effetism that it is not the dykes and the shirtlifters who are fighting Labour's wars, but family people, men and women with children and a sense of responsibility. When you have an MP, as in Blackpool South, whose record is clearly biased towards efforts to promote homosexuals, then what chance have ordinary folk got? Not a lot. In a world where there have to be priorities, the broadening of division between straights and gay can only lead to resentment on behalf of the majority. The widening of society is being brought about by an over zealot majority in Parliament who actively appear to be promoting everything homosexual, against the normality of human relations. Beware, it is these same misguided groups who want and promote the bringing down of laws which have been put in place to protect children, by advocating the bringing down of the age of sexual consent for children. No doubt Gary Glitter would approve.

POPSDo corrupt workers infest Blackpool council? If you work for the deprived of Blackpool, this article comes of little surprise. The ease with which Blackpool council castigate and humiliate the elderly, the ill-educated and the vulnerable is better than legend. There is something drastically wrong within the system if vulnerable people are harangued in the way they are, while insiders hide their evil duplicity under a welter of needless accusations against innocent residents. £6000.000 tells the truth. The mass majority of council workers are conscientious and honest individuals. This situation can only arise because the average, decent employee cannot use their common sense. They are hen-pecked with stupid regulations and abeyance of political correctness. If the top hierarchy of the Finance Department were really held accountable and dismissed, the position replaced by a competent clerk on a reasonable salary, then the problem would be solved

POPSLytham St Annes not cyclist friendly These few pictures tell only part of a stupidity act that would not go amiss in the circus at Blackpool Tower. The lanes run all the way from the Blackpool border, through the metropolis, but the only ones who cannot use them are cyclists. Why? Because parking is permitted on/in them. Strange or what? And this is a council who can only close things down, like the public swimming baths, the boating pool, the cycle lanes. I wonder who votes for these far sighted geniuses? Stalin, Goerbels, Mussolini or the morons who have never done a days work in their lives?

POPSBlackpool not disabled friendly.
The evidence is overwhelming. Carrying on from the woeful Labour regime, this soporific administration has done nothing for the disabled. When the National Servicemen told the Council that the organisation for their disabled members was inadequate, they were attacked. Try getting an 18 stone former regular soldier onto a bur with his wheel chair. As often as not you cannot, because their is a pram already on the bus. The Disabilities Act requires the Transport Authorities to make available disabled spaces. Only Stagecoach in this area enforces the Law and requires young adults to fold away their carriages and sit their children on their laps. I would love to be able to do this with the 18 stone gentleman, but I cannot. All the disabled ask for is their RIGHTS underwritten in Law. Unfortunately, it is not the young parent who is the pariah, but it is usually the elderly who have no conception of what it is like to be imprisoned in a wheel-chair, the problems that carers have

POPSPart time MP's
Why has Andrew Alexander tried to steal my thunder? Convincing the public that if an MP writes to the local Health Authority, he/she is only doing their duty is remarkable. What makes matters worse is if, as in Blackpool, you have ineffectual Parliamentary representation, it is compounded by totally useless councillors. Much of the problem solving is local and should be undertaken by Councillors. Not so long ago,a former serviceman was working but could not find affordable accommodation. It took three years of pestering and cajoling before the Council could find habitable space for this disabled person, injured in the line of duty. Yet all around, DSS fraudsters duped the system and lived purely by their own rules. Couples open co-habitat at the tax payers expense. If you complain you are hit with the homophobia/race card. How come health young lesbians can afford taxis for every journey when truly disabled people have to use a bus pass? And anyone who had ventured down Hors
