POPSKatrina Woes Fatigue Syndrome Why is it so difficult to stay on course? Why can no one in power keep their promises? Why does everyone keep blaming someone else? Why, I ask myself, does this seem to be related to the Congo, Darfur, Burma, Gaza, Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador?

POPSSo Where Am I to Live? No room in Gaza, Iraq does not want us, can't start a settlement in West Bank, now we can't rebuild the refugee camp in Lebanon that was destroyed? So, under the sun that shines on everyone regardeless of faith, race, or politics - where shall we live?

POPSReflection's of a Gaza Mom Often just looking at the photographs that hold meaning to the taker give you insights you can get no other way. The words are few, the visions and thoughts many. It halps to make Gaza real and not just some pixels in a news report bookended by political views.

POPSGaza is Still Suffering - Can You Hear Them? Not very well can you hear the cries of people in Gaza who are still homeless, whose friends are refused entry or exit. Why? Some may not want to hear; others can't hear because major news outlets are not saying anything because there is not enough blood flowing or or bombs bursting daily to attract viewers/advertisers - sad.

POPSWar in Gaza Was Out of Control Say Israeli Soldiers If you keep in mind how compact and densely populated Gaza is, it's hard to imagine things not getting out of control and why Israeli Defense Forces should not have launched their attacks. Those on both sides will learn, I hope, that violence, war is not the answer.

POPSA Day and a Night at the Hotel Gaza Remember the films: A Day at the Opera, Bagdad Cafe, and the Road to Singapore all strangely funny comedies - yes. Unfortunately, the current situation of trying to get aid into Gaza and the speed bumps that Egypt keeps tossing in seem like a bad remake of these films with Egypt, an otherwise great place, seemingly intent on making a bad situation worse.

POPSWho Benefits at Plight of People in Gaza? Too much - another attempt to help Gazans and border guards are playing stupid. Someone must have a financial interest - Egyptian police and officers are a lot smarter than this. Some one has to be telling them to go slow, so they can get "theirs."

POPSGreat Group and Message - Michael Franti & Spearhead YELL FIRE! Official Release Date: 2006 Label: Boo Boo Wax & Anti In 2004 Michael Franti decided to ‘walk his talk’ and traveled to the war zones of Iraq, Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories. This wasn’t a USO green zone sponsored visit – Franti and his team organized a trip that would take him to the core of the red-zoned, war torn neighborhoods of Baghdad, the West Bank and Gaza Strip with his guitar, video cameras and the intent to experience first hand the human cost of war. Out of this journey, Franti has created a compelling documentary film titled I Know I’m Not Alone and a searing, reflective new album of original songs titled Yell Fire! recorded in Kingston, Jamaica and Franti’s hometown of San Francisco, California.

POPSIsraeli Soldiers Refuse to serve in Gaza People here in US can protest and support either side (I believe both sides should choose ceasefire). In Israel or Gaza, choosing not to fight now, on your own, is an act of high moral courage.

POPSAn Unnecessary War By Jimmy Carter Thursday, January 8, 2009; Page A15 I know from personal involvement that the devastating invasion of Gaza by Israel could easily have been avoided.

POPSLetter from Gaza on life and death of a father The saddest aspect of all this insanity is that the same letter can and has probably been written by a son or daughter of an Israeli killed by a rocket fired from Gaza. If only the leaders of both sides had the wisdom, the writer shares about violence begetting more violence. Peace now!

POPSWhy Bomb Gaza? Is it alll or mostly politics? How jaded or cynical are you when it comes to politics or how far do you believe politicians on both sides will go to be sure they stay in control of their electorates? Try a cease fire now so fewer people die and use other means to get votes!
