POPSNebraska State Police Seize Baby from Nursing Mother This is what happens when the State has a say in medical issues. If they will go to these extremes in this circumstance, then what circumstance would they exercise restraint. This should be sign of things to come in th world of socialized medicine.

POPSWoman tortured in sick hate crime This woman was horribly tortured and abused in a crime that was obviously based on hate. The penalty for hate, though, is miniscule compared to the penalties for rape, kidnapping, and all the other things they're going to be able to convict them of. While you can't call this anything other than hate, I agree that these people need to get the maximum penalties they can possibly get.

POPSDeputy Sheriff kills six What caused a young deputy sheriff to go on the loose to shoot six at a supposedly pizza-movie night? Something seriously went wrong in the judgement of that young police officer. We can't tell what it is now, but whatever it was did seem to be the thing to do. Was it for drugs, or for under-agers at a party, or was it just for revenge? After all the facts are in, perhaps we might find out just why the young man went berserk on the killing spree. Whatever the motive, six people are dead and one critically injured victim in serious condition is the result. Still, it is a sad price to pay for another of society's failures.

POPSAmerica's Police Brutality Pandemic "No matter how gratuitous and violent the police brutality, a “free” American citizen can defend himself only at the expense, if not of his life, of a long stay in prison." Paul Craig Roberts calls a spade a spade.

POPSPolice Brutality? Mind you this took place a month after the Hurricane Katrina. The day after the hurricane passed 250 officers didn't show back up for work. There were even accusations of the police looting. Stress is a mind blower. The cops may have done the right thing with the old man. Rule one: When caught by the police, do not resist arrest or detainment. Rule two: Don't get caught in the first place.
