The group became known for an anonymous leaflet campaign, lasting from June 1942 until February 1943, that called for active opposition to German dictator Adolf Hitler's regime. The six core members of the group were arrested by the Gestapo, convicted and executed by beheading in 1943. The text of their sixth leaflet was smuggled out of Germany through Scandinavia to England, and in July 1943 copies of it were dropped over Germany by Allied planes, retitled "The Manifesto of the Students of Munich." Today, the members of the White Rose are honored in Germany as great heroes who opposed the Third Reich in the face of deadly danger for such resistance.

He has called for regime change, which is something American politicians do every time they find a country whose policies they disagree with. Regime change is a change of government, not genocide. As for the Holocaust, he said it raised two questions: Why put people in prison who question details of the official version, which is what several European countries do. POPSThe Children of Iraq ... look what we have done to them and what for? How can even the most ardent conservative supporter of the war in iraq look at these photos and not take umbrage with that we are doing there. I would put the disclaimer that the photos towards the end of this piece are very gruesome, but we should see them so we have no illusions about what we are doing to these people. Saddam Hussein may have been an evil dictator, but when you see these photos, it is easy to see how we have replaced him tooth and nail in evil doing. We have successfully replaced regime for regime and these children are next in line to repay us for our suffering. It is a shame we have stripped so many beautiful children of their innocence and are sowing the seeds of hatred for their future. If you don't believe me, take the time to actually study the photos here, and think if this was happening on your own soil, how you would feel. Your resentment and anger would be theirs.

Bush blames the democrats for poor veterans programs, due to their unwillingness to rubber stamp military spending. He talks about allowing the likes of Hitler, and "Lenin, and the consequences. POPSWhat Have We Taught Them? First, the leaders in the Democratic Party have given these issues as little attention as the Republicans. Democrats in control of the House and Senate have taken no action to challenge and dismantle these abuses. I suspect that the front-runners in the Democratic Party, and those who fund them (particularly those who fund them), are looking forward to what they can accomplish with warrantless searches and seizures, arbitrary arrest and imprisonment, and signing statements. Second, the Republican Party itself has had a long tradition of supporting Constitutional principles, particularly the value of a limited government and maximum freedom. I do not know where those Republicans have been hiding for the past six years, but it is time for them to come out and assert themselves.

We should read this and ask ourselves: what is it that Rupert Murdoch and his ilk really believe in? Are they really conservatives or simply autocrats mascarading behind a "small government" agenda? What is meant by "small" anyway? From one angle, the smallest government possible is a single dictator, while the largest government possible is a democracy where everyone holds equal share in the governance of their society.
