POPSUMWA President Rebukes McCain
Despite what the McCain campaign and some far right-wing blogs would have Americans believe, Sen. Obama has been and remains a tremendous supporter of coal and the future of coal. “I noted that Sen. McCain even went so far yesterday as to say he has always been a supporter of coal. I wonder, then, how he can justify his statement at a Senate hearing in 2000 that, ‘In a perfect world we would like to transition away from coal entirely,’ and his leading role in sponsoring legislation in 2003 that would have wiped out 78 percent of all coal production in America? “Fortunately, UMWA members, their families and their friends and neighbors in the coalfields know all too well what is going on here. They’re not going to fall for it, and we urge others throughout America who care about coal to review what the candidates’ records on coal actually are. We are confident that once they do, and once they see the many other benefits to working families of voting for Sen. Obama, they will make t

POPSExplanations for the Palin spending spree "I saw the RNC statement on Gov. Palin’s $150,000 clothing bender on the RNC's tab. This caper is gonna make for a long day at the office for the good folks at the RNC/McCain press operation. Thought I’d offer a little help in a humorous vein; some other possible spin lines for the RNC."

POPSMuslim McCain Fans Confront Intolerance At Rally Video after the link and it finally restores my faith in McCain / Palin supporters. It's good to see some people standing up and denouncing these tactics. I still think it should be McCain / Palin doing the denouncing though.

POPSDudes rule in Palin crowds They do know she's not going to give everyone a six pack if she wins, don't they?? Oh, the hypocrisy! She's "the one", she's a giver of life and "who can't trust a mother?". Apparently you can only trust a "hot mother" who is semi-literate, right? Because they sure weren't giving Hillary any props for having a uterus and a brain.

POPSMcCain to use "Yo Momma" Insults in Debate From 23/6: With an unrepentant economy and Sarah Palin satires dominating the news, several new tracking polls show Barack Obama widening his lead over John McCain anywhere from 14 points at the NYT/CBS Polls to 101 points at MSNBC, taken between the Countdown and Rachel Maddow Shows. Only at Fox News where they show a narrow 3 point margin for McCain in the BillOReilly.com "Phones Are Poppin'" Poll that asked the Folks™ to choose between McCain and a Muslin Comrade of a Terrorist, does McCain hold a lead. "Obviously thing are looking a bit dire," said McCain spokesman, Tucker Bounds, "so you can expect Senator McCain to take off the gloves at tonight's debate. In actuality, someone will probably help him take off those gloves just before the debate, but he will be well-prepared to be aggressive, no matter the issue."

POPSSarah Palin is a Bitch… there I said it. "Please take your ridiculous hair, your over lipstick-smacking mouth, your Lenscrafter look smarter glasses and your poorly fitted designer jackets back to Alaska. And when you get there, shove a piece of the pipeline up your considerable ass. I’ll be damned if we’ll put our children’s future in your hands. And the same thing goes for McCain - the ass wipe who gave her this national platform effectively pushing the woman’s movement back into the dark ages - knowing McCain that might have been his plan all along." Love it!

POPSThe Sidewalk to Nowhere, McCain Supporters in Bethlehem, PA I'm not even going to mention how wrong these people are regarding their political arguments. Why are people who are obviously not at work themselves deriding other people for not being at work? Seriously? That's just stupid. I wish I could feel more pity for these people since they are so obviously trapped in their own ignorance, fear and hatred. Really, where does that come from? Palin eats hate and winks while playing to the cameras, but McCain should be ashamed that he has fostered this.

POPSBecause We Don't Need It... We don’t need more debts. Palin spent 15 million on a new sports center in the valley, leaving the small town of Wasilla, Alaska in debt to the amount of 22 million. (That’s 22 million more than the debt she took on when taking on this lovely playtime as mayor.) We don’t need family feuds interfering with duties. I know you feel your ex-brother-in-law was a dick… but trying to get him fired...Sarah? We don’t need another vote against gay marriage. This is just standard every day equal rights being overlooked. Sarah Palin disagrees. We don’t need to overlook global warming. Science can now tell us "Yup. That is happening.” Not my words, that is science speak. Sarah Palin disagrees.

POPSMichelle Obama on Larry King This quote was an answer she gave when Larry asked if she got upset or angry hearing the things that Palin and McCain have been saying in order to try and slander her husband. When I think about these sentiments in contrast to the crap coming from the other side, it's all so clear...

POPSMcCain Wins Debate! Looks like his campaign isn't leaving anything to chance. He's barely finished announcing that he will actually show up and there running ads saying he won. via this site: http://voices.washingtonpost.com/thefix/2008/09/mccain_wins_debate.html "McCain Wins Debate!" declares the ad which features a headshot of a smiling McCain with an American flag background. Another ad spotted by our eagle-eyed observer featured a quote from McCain campaign manager Rick Davis declaring: "McCain won the debate-- hands down."

POPSJon Stewart and Stephen Colbert: Mock the Vote So what do you think is the issue that people will end up voting on? STEWART: Whatever happens that week. It all depends on when that Michelle Obama ''I hate whitey'' tape comes out. If it comes out now, it could dissipate by the election. But if it comes out a couple days before, that could be dangerous. COLBERT: Jon? I have it.

POPSWhite Privilege White privilege is when you can claim that being mayor of a town smaller than most medium-sized colleges, and then Governor of a state with about the same number of people as the lower fifth of the island of Manhattan, makes you ready to potentially be president, and people don't all piss on themselves with laughter, while being a black U.S. Senator, two-term state Senator, and constitutional law scholar, means you're "untested." White privilege is being able to say that you support the words "under God" in the pledge of allegiance because "if it was good enough for the founding fathers, it's good enough for me," and not be immediately disqualified from holding office--since, after all, the pledge was written in the late 1800s and the "under God" part wasn't added until the 1950s--while believing that reading accused criminals and terrorists their rights (because, ya know, the Constitution, which you used to teach at a prestigious law school requires it), is a dangerous
