POPSFrom Slate: If Obama Loses Whether you are comfortable with the discussion of race or not. Whether you believe race is still an issue or not. This is a very interesting article.

POPSJSmooth Says It right here... too much talking. Let's pick a candidate and please please get on with it. It is about unifying the party or nation or what have you. It's not about you. Sometimes, it is not about you, HRC. Seriously.

POPSFrom the WP: 8 Questions Answered by Today's primaries This is a long article but worth a read. And it's not written by our favorite WP writer, Charlotte Allen, so do not be turned off. I had to go there. I just did. These are some questions I have talked about with my colleagues, friends and students.

POPSLet the discussion continue I am glad that the House of Representatives refused to make that awful surveillance law permanent. I was listening to Mike McConnell, director of national intelligence, this morning on Morning Edition and what he was saying made no sense at all to me. He kept going back and forth between it being about giving immunity to telecommunications companies to protecting the country. I am sure there are other ways to conduct surveillance. At least they can continue "debating" the issue.

POPSOp Ed. - WSJ - Splits within parties more apparent... with Super Tuesday come and gone, I have been a bit nervous about how ugly this election with get...especially amongst the Democrats. I thought this was an interesting piece from the Wall Street Journal. Today everyone has been extremely passionate about this election. 8 years of crap and now "we" have to decide who should be our next leader. People have said "I hope those people who wanted to vote for Clinton/Obama don't decide to stay at home in November because Clinton/Obama did not win the nomination." That is one fear. Now, it will get ugly and people will be turned off. That is my second.

POPSPermanent Presence in Iraq - NPR story I woke up to this story at 5 am. I am disturbed by the implications that this treaty will have on our already over-worked over-stressed military. I hope that Rep. Bill Delahunt filibusters the crap out of this. I should not be surprised that they are trying to get this in before the election. What a f---ing piece of work this g.d. administration is? I feel sick. The more I listen to this story the more disturbed and sad I feel about the state of this nation. Can we just bump up the elections to now? Seriously. Before the Bush Administration really f---s us up. Using other language to hide the fact that it is a treaty and that the US will have a permanent presence in Iraq.

POPSNonprofits in politics... I thought this was an interested breakdown of non-profits and how they are playing an increasing role in the primaries.

POPSNYT & Mitt's Record - movement back to responsible reporting I still feel there needs to be a movement in American Journalism towards more objective reporting. But this is interesting overview of NYT's reporting on Mitt Romney. But it's the same old news isn't it? No real information unless we choose to dig it up ourselves...
