Did Valerie Plame Wilson Commit Perjury?
merrie
by merrie  7-8-2008    2
But, that is no excuse for the Valerie Wilson-Plame to sit in front of a Congressional Committee and LIE like she did. This is what Valerie Plame said sworn testimony before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform: Plame also testified that she played no part in deciding to send her husband, former ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV, on a mission to Niger in 2002 to assess the reliability of reports that Iraq's then-president, Saddam Hussein, was trying to buy yellowcake uranium from that country for use in a secret nuclear weapons program. Some CPD officials could not recall how the office decided to contact the former ambassador, however, interviews and documents provided to the Committee indicate that his wife, a CPD employee, suggested his name for the trip. The CPD reports officer told Committee staff that the former ambassador's wife "offered up his name" and a memorandum to the Deputy Chief of the CPD on February 12, 2002.

elected and popular government. The Wall Street Journal reported on the confiscated FARC documents that implicated Rep. McGovern back in March: The Reyes hard drive reveals an ardent effort to do business directly with the FARC by Congressman James McGovern (D., Mass.), a leading opponent of the free-trade deal. Mr. McGovern has been working with an American go-between, who has been offering the rebels help in undermining Colombia's elected and popular government. Mr. McGovern's press office says the Congressman is merely working at the behest of families whose relatives are held as FARC kidnap hostages. However, his go-between's letters reveal more than routine intervention. Now, today we find out who was directing Rep. McGovern-- Speaker Pelosi! Conservatives At Odds With McCain

But perhaps more importantly, he has long been an advocate of entitlement reform. He was early an ardent support of personal accounts for Social Security, and has pushed for serious Medicare reform, including means-testing. Almost alone among Republicans, he opposed the disastrous Medicare prescription drug benefit. "On domestic policy, he has shown a disturbing predilection for elevating every personal pet peeve, from steroids in baseball to airplane service quality, to a federal issue. And, he has embraced heavily regulatory environmental policies and compulsory national service. Like George W. Bush, he tends to support federal power over federalism, executive authority over legislative, and generally leans toward the imperial presidency. For believers in individual liberty and limited government, it's a decidedly mixed bag. But, then again, aren't they all?"

It Must Suck Being Joseph "Yellow-Cake" Wilson IV Now!

In his speech, Ambassador Joseph Wilson described himself as the investigator sent to Niger by the government and says the government sent him there and not the CIA (a lie). Wilson said there was nothing to the uranium story (another lie), described the US as "occupiers" of Iraq (a shocking statement at the time), and described a conspiracy to help Israel dominate the Palestinians. Joe Wilson repeated the lie for several years that the Iraq was not seeking uranium from Niger even though five days after Wilson's NYT op-ed, George Tenet put out a statement describing how the person the CIA sent to check out the Niger story (Joe Wilson) found that the Iraqis had indeed tried to open up trade talks, which were interpretted by government officials in Niger as an attempt to purchase uranium ore. Nobody Wants To Be On Obama's Ticket

McGovern had the same problem- and felt forced to pick Thomas Eagleton, who had to be replaced by Sargen Shriver, A Kennedy apparatchik. * Edwards says he's not interested. * Biden says he's not interested, but might say yes if asked. . * Ditto Kerry. * Governor Tom Strickland of Ohio says he would “absolutely not” join the Obama ticket. * Webb says he's not interested in VP. * Gov Bredesen says he's not interested. * Sen Bayh says he's not interested - but might say yes. At this rate Obama might have to pick Caroline!
