POPSMalaysian Ruling BN ib Danger of Collapsing Mahathir felt that Pakatan Rakyat was a force to be reckoned with, not because it was strong or the people loved the Opposition but because of "the feeling of disappointment." When asked where the Opposition would obtain the 30 MPs, Mahathir pointed towards Sabah and Sarawak. "If we take Umno, MCA and MIC, they have their roots here (in the peninsula) but not in Sabah and Sarawak. Although you have Umno in Sabah, it is transplanted from here to there. He said even in the peninsula, there could be MPs who could cross over since they knew that they could be in the new opposition-led government."

POPSBoycott Dutch Products THE HAGUE (AFP) — Dutch businesses Saturday threatened to sue far-right lawmaker Geert Wilders if his anti-Islam film led to a commercial boycott, as EU foreign ministers and more Muslim countries condemned it. "I don't know if Wilders is rich, or well-insured, but in the case of a boycott, we would look to see if we could make him bear responsibility," Bernard Wientjes, chairman of the Dutch employers' organisation VNO-NCW, told the newspaper Het Financieel Dagblad.

POPSPrecinct 4 - a stunning new residential development for Putrajaya waterfront
The winner of a recent contest, the design for Precinct 4 comes from Studio Nicoletti Associati and Malaysian architects Hijjas Kasturi Associates, who provided the masterplan of Putrajaya. The goal of the designers was to provide a model for sustainable residential design that was inspired by the city’s unique landscape which includes an expansive artificial lake. The biggest inspiration came from the sea and the entire development resembles a fleet of ships. The architect’s goal was to design buildings that tell “of its place of origin which is culturally modern, Islamic and tropical in nature.” Added to this is Nicoletti’s extensive experience in design and construction for extreme climates. For Precinct 4, the Italian firm brought sustainable strategies like terraces, sunshades, natural ventilation and integrated green space into the design. The buildings will source from alternative energy and are expected to produce 50% less CO2 emissions than similar residential projects.

POPSThe Agony of Zaid Ibrahim Posted by kasee Thursday, 27 March 2008 KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 ─ Malaysia's de facto law minister Zaid Ibrahim came out of the Cabinet meeting today slightly bruised but a little wiser. He learnt an important lesson ─ float an idea only after you have discussed it with your ministerial colleagues. With several lawyers in the Cabinet ─ Datuk Rais Yatim, Datuk Azalina Othman Said, Datuk Syed Hamid Albar and Datuk Nazri Aziz ─ Zaid must have felt like he was making his case before the Supreme Court. At a post-Cabinet press conference, he said: "There are many people who are more experience and wiser than me. So, we have to wait. I don't think I want to add anything more to this." Zaid proposed the idea of an apology, saying that it was the least the government could do to the three judges ─ Tun Salleh Abas, Datuk George Seah and Datuk Wan Sulaiman Pawanteh ─ for the injustice that they suffered at the hands of the Mahathir administration.

POPSKarpal Singh has emerged victorious Gobind added that it was time for him to make his presence felt as "a lot of people had heard of me but have not met me face to face". "There is a difference between meeting people and getting to know them. I must step into their shoes to know what state they are in, must discard protocol and be approachable. "Now I am dealing with the reality of being a politician with proper planning, thanks largely to my wife (journalist-turned lawyer Sangeeta Kaur Sidhu) and my legal team," said Gobind, who was admitted to the Malaysian Bar in 1996, a year after returning from Lincoln's Inn. Gobind said he had learnt a lot from his mentor, father and prominent DAP lawyer Karpal Singh. "Dad has done it over the years, proving that it is not impossible to manage your business and be a parliamentarian.

POPSMelaka DAP Political Rally 3-3-08
When I spotted Damien Yeo, or Baba Yeo of DAP at the political rally in front of the Melaka DAP’s office at Jln Dato’ Wira Poh Ah Tiam last night; I immediately introduced myself as one of his FaceBook Group supporters and have the abovementioned shots taken. Almost immediately after that, it was his turn to take the stage. When he was officially invited, he as his usual self placed a laptop at the rostrum before he began his round of bombardments. As he was from a typical Melaka Baba Nyonya family, he started by little warm greetings in Mandarin, which is not his mother tongue before showing his eloquence and proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English. He immediately took to task the various financially and political bankrupt management frauds of Melaka state government, led by UMNO’s Ali Rustum, ganged by MCA & MIC bodyguard dogs; to the thunderous applause of the approx. 10,000 crowd present. Personally, the last time I really spent time attending a political rally was

POPSAbdullah, Global Embarssment But to be fair there was one thing he did do well. He managed to stump the CNN interviewer. It was very obvious that the CNN fler was totally at a loss of how to handle our YAB. Malaysia Boleh! You just have to watch and make your own mind up. Do you want this man to be prime minister of your country?
