POPSThe English to text message translator The kind of text used by a 12 year old to send text messages. The translator wont work on the clip but there is the link at the top. A few translations show how handy it can be, but I must admit I don't send enough text messages to know much of the jargon.

POPSFinally, Rudy's 9/11 Lies are Being Exposed I've been waiting impatiently, for Mr. Giuliani's lies to begin catching up with him. He has been running all over the country claiming to be an "expert on terrorism," and Islamofascism. Some voters, outside the New York metropolitan area, are falling for his story hook, line and sinker. But now, his own words given during testimony he gave to the 9/11 commission are leaking into the media, and it tells a very different story. It presents a person who knows virtually nothing about terrorism, al Qaeda or bin Laden. He proves the falsity of his claims concerning the inadequate radios his fire fighters were forced to use that fateful day, along with other information that paints a very different picture from the one he has been unveiling for the public during the campaign.

POPSThe Separation of Church and State and the Dinner Table
This is very interesting, since Israel falls somewhere in between secular democracy and theocracy. Since the notion of the state is intrinsically linked to the religious identity (even when not practiced) this creates a unique dilemma when the interests of the state come into conflict with the interests of the faith. Perhaps this is the true threat to the "Two State" solution. Israel is becoming embroiled in economic and political struggles that undermine the ideology that lies at the bedrock of its foundation. Perhaps it is time to realize that a modern secular state simply cannot coexist with the demands of an official religious ideology. Look at Bush for another example: although he talks about his faith, he has done comparatively little to advance the Christian agenda. This should be of note for Christian Conservatives who dream of making America a Christian nation: in the context of Euro-American culture and politics, a religious state has become impossible.

POPSMy Resignation As An Adult I want to believe in the power of smiles, hugs, a kind word, truth, dreams, the imagination, the Tooth Fairy, a kiss that makes a boo-boo go away, making angels in the snow, and that my dad and G-d are the strongest people in the world. There are a few more at the source. . :)

POPSPrint your own stuff with a DIY replicator Zack Hoeken, one of my fellow members of NYC Resistor is working on a opensource do-it-yourself 3D printer called RepRap. The RepRap community (and Zack himself) are working like crazy to make this machine a reality, with the eventual goal of it being able to print itself!

POPSInterviews: Proof of soldiers Abuse against Arabs "We were in a weapon carrier when this guy, around 25, passed by in the street, and just like that, for no reason, he didn't throw a stone, did nothing - bang, a bullet in the stomach - he shot him in the stomach and the guy is dying on the sidewalk and we keep going, apathetic. No one gave him a second look." An ideology developed that even minor events necessitated a brutal response. "A 3-year-old kid, he can't throw, he can't hurt you no matter what he does, but a kid of 19 can. With women I have no problem. With women, one threw a clog at me and I kicked her here , I broke everything there. She can't have children. Next time she won't throw clogs at me. When one of them spat at me I gave her the rifle butt in the face. She doesn't have what to spit with anymore." Some of them to cover up for their friends, even if they stole from homes where they conducted searches or sexually harassed or provoked Arab women. ...Haaretz

POPSRoboBugs: That Dragonfly is a U.S. Government Spy More: Defense Department documents describe nearly 100 different models in use today, some as tiny as birds, and some the size of small planes. All told, the nation's fleet of flying robots logged more than 160,000 flight hours last year -- a more than fourfold increase since 2003. A recent report by the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College warned that if traffic rules are not clarified soon, the glut of unmanned vehicles "could render military airspace chaotic and potentially dangerous." The Hybrid Insect Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems project aims to create literal shutterbugs -- camera-toting insects whose nerves have grown into their internal silicon chip so that wranglers can control their activities. DARPA researchers are also raising cyborg beetles with power for various instruments to be generated by their muscles.

POPSABC Leak Severely Damages War Effort I am reading an interesting book on the Mahattan Project and the Los Alamos Laboratory. Leaks such as this would have been dealt with severely, as they should be. I fault the Bush administration for not using the full war powers of the country in prosecuting these traitors.

POPS25 years on: Sabra, Shatila MASSACRE. Sharon guilty! Israel sealed off the camps for three days, while Lebanese militias, notably the Lebanese Forces, went on a killing spree, targeting defenseless civilians. Between 800 and 2,000 Palestinians, and 100 Lebanese, died as Israeli troops watched the militiamen carry out mass murder in Sabra and Shatila. A group of survivors tried to launch a lawsuit in Belgium against Sharon and an Israeli Army general over the massacre. ... AFP

POPSNew York Times: "highly disturbing pattern of bias."
'Support for Israel is ironclad, absolute, and uncompromising on everything including its worst crimes of war and against humanity. Open debate is stifled, and anyone daring to dissent or demur is pilloried, ridiculed, called anti-Semetic, even threatened, ostracised, and finally ignored. In his seminal work on Middle East affairs, "Fateful Triangle," Noam Chomsky put it this way: "....Israel has been granted a unique immunity from criticism in mainstream journalism and scholarship...."' Simply put, the NYT is a rag unworthy of the tees needed Today, it's the pillar of the corporate media and main instrument of fake news making it the closest thing in the country to an official ministry of information and propaganda. No media source anywhere has more clout than the Times, none manipulates the public mind more effectively, and where it goes, others follow. It's most visible supporting all things corporate, foreign wars of aggression, and everything favouring Israel it views one

POPSPalestian Christians: Wikipedia Two American courts, one in Illinois and the other in North Carolina, have accepted that "the Palestinian Authority was persecuting Christian" as grounds for granting asylum to two Evangelical converts from Islam fleeing PA territory. Palestinian Christians are generally sympathetic of the Palestinian cause. Palestinian Christians have a higher rate of education and a lower birth rate than their Muslim counterparts. According to the BBC, some Palestinian Christians have spoken of threats, confiscation of land, difficulties buying land, arson attacks, sexual assaults and general hostility.
