    Tips For Juice Extractors

The pulp left over in the hopper - don’t throw it away! It can be used to add texture to smoothies and soups. Carrot pulp can be used for carrot cake, bread or muffins, without having to spend time shredding carrots. Sneak some of the nutritious pulp into meals. The kids won’t know they’re getting added fiber and vitamins - but you will!

    Signing Off On Sex Ed
    ljsdesign
    by ljsdesign  10-13-2009
Sex ed came into being because kids weren't getting the necessary information to protect themselves. If parents treat sex as a taboo subject at home they are likely not to have their children attend a sex ed class.

It's one of those things where you're almost damned if you do, damned if you don't I thought they weren't using Thermerosol in vaccines anymore. The preservative is not in the FluMist nasal spray, which can be given to healthy kids age 2 and older. But it's in many injectable doses, which are packaged in multi-dose vials that require thimerosal to prevent bacterial contamination

Why "but it will confuse the children" is an obnoxious excuse for discrimination
    Lexica
    by Lexica  10-7-2009
As the post points out, ou know what else confuses kids? Everything: Time zones. Books without pictures. Cargo pants. Certain hair colors. Jello molds. The magic trick with the quarter behind the ear. Mirrors. Mentadent toothpaste dispensers. Everything confuses kids, because they're kids. So "Will it confuse kids?" is probably not the best litmus test for, well, anything besides toys and Spongebob plotlines (and even then, there's a lot of leeway).

more @ clip source Where to begin in helping them understand that they are, in fact, reinforcing negative and damaging stereotypes about “good” and “bad” hair? That they are encouraging discourses of self-hatred in their young students, rather than self-pride? That instead of being flattered to be called a princess, they should be fighting the stereotypes that beauty is about approximating Whiteness?

    Batterers Don't Just Appear

Read The Whole Article Kids need to learn to respect each other when they are young and bring that attitude forward to adulthood. They need to understand that the loud, obnoxious people who always seem to get the laughs get tiresome. The respectful people are more and more in demand as they grow older. Kids need to understand that the way to a better life is not by bullying and dominating others, but by being a part of their lives, sharing the good and difficult times.
