At least they're having some difficulties. We had the production run of the F 22 Raptor (5th Gen). We canceled it. We keep the F35 because we can sell this aircraft and share costs with other countries, mainly Britain and Israel. Both want access to "secret code" but, so far, the answer is NO..heh

2 new carriers; conventional F35's.....Too bad for our F22 program, but the USA will not allow anyone to have access to these Gen 5 aircraft. Japan and Israel I am sure are drooling to get their hands on them.....

Senate Kills F22 Funding--What about the Russians?

No more F22s for a while. We'll have to wait until the Russians and Chinese finish developing their own fighters with capabilities like the F22. The F35 isn't in the same game as the F22, it is a cross between a Harrier and an F16

    F 35 Joint Strike Fighter--Highly Marketed Aircraft

This plane does everything except orbit the earth. The U.S. is using this aircraft as a platform to sell to everyone who wants it...It will displace the F22 Raptor,(expensive), but I wonder will it truly be ALL things for ALL Missions??? Nothing has worked this way before.. DOES HAVE GREAT TOYS INCLUDED ARE: A distributed-aperture-infrared sensor system will provide full spherical infrared coverage around the aircraft. In addition to providing warnings of missile launches, information from the system can be displayed on the pilot’s helmet visor, permitting the pilot to see “through” the airplane’s structure in all directions, and eliminating the need for night-vision goggles. This system will dramatically increase the ability of the F-35 to conduct any type of mission at night.
