POPSEuropa's Ocean Has Oxygen, May Support Life Now one has to figure where it comes from on Europa? We know where our oxygen sprang from--minuscule ocean critters (scientific name), and plant life. This planet didn't start off with an oxygen atmosphere....some conclude a chemical reaction took place to release it from the primal waters...can't remember exactly.

POPSFlying Too Slowly When I first heard about airspeeds, I believed the investigators and Airbus personnel were discussing too high an airspeed for penetrating bad weather. Above the Design Maneuvering Speed, but stalling? I heard about a phenomenon called a 'high speed' stall. This involved Learjets or some similar corporate jet at high altitudes. Anyone know about this?

POPSBrave New World It's coming! Just keep an eye on Great Britain as the government seeks to watch, listen and be in all people's everyday existence. This country is at the forefront of abolishing personal liberties. Their CCTV system is unparalleled in the world as one would think this would be the Soviet Union during the Cold War. GB and other EU countries are in the process tagging citizen's cars with GPS for tracking purposes, hiding behind the umbrella of using this acquired data as a means to tax driver's mileage. The U.S. is kicking this idea around even now.

POPSWoman illegally downloads 24 songs, fined to tune of $1.9 million Once you download, you had better move them to another directory that can't be scanned. I figure, I owned almost every song I ever downloaded at one time. I bought them and subsequently, they were lost, became unplayable or stolen. If we could copy songs from albums to cassettes, borrow a friends album and copy it to tape.....I don't see any damn difference. I am just reacquiring my PAID for music. On the other hand, I don't want to see the artists lose money. One last thing, these artists aren't losing money from someone like me, who can't afford to buy any music.

POPSIran Has A New Leader--Maybe Iran has a very young voting population and the majority seems to want a change in government. Two Iranian women, believed to be in their 20s expressed one idea I thought important, "We don't want to be Isolated Anymore!". Right! The world will continue to evolve and leave closed door societies behind and the young people in Iran realize what is happening with or without them. The World will have to wait and see who wins in Iran.

Come on, 56k modem? Well, he doesn't deserve the 70 years he is facing.....If he gets convicted in England, he'll get no time. Hell, no one gets any more than a few years when convicted of more heinous crimes there. Amazing!

POPSDoomsday Called Off I still gotta believe that any pollutants inserted into the atmosphere cause problems for "earthlings" I guess I'll watch it now..... Now serious criticism has arisen from a number of heavyweight independent scientists. They argue that most of the climatic change we have seen is due to natural variations. They also state that if CO2 is to play a role at all -it will be minuscule and not catastrophic!

POPSTwo Passengers on Doomed Flight Linked to Terroris Now we are teetering toward the theory that the destruction of Flight 447 as being a possible victim to Muslim terrorists. Some may remember I posted a news message about a bomb threat to an Air France airliner just a few days before this crash. Although, Brazilian authorities searched the "bomb threat plane" meticulously, it left and landed in Paris without incident. This plane flew the same flight plan as AF 447. Now we may have a possible coincidence according to the French that the names listed on the doomed flight were indeed a match to a list of Islamic terrorists. But, coincidences are easy to accept in hard to believe circumstances. We do have the bomb threats on a previous flight and we have two names of passengers that are considered "a threat" to the French Republic. I wonder if these two names were on the passenger manifest that was held up for the bomb threat flight?. ..... lakotahope.blogspot.com
