Why I use Clipmarks
I Love the convenience of saving the "important" part of articles which I enjoy.
I appreciate the wealth of knowledge on eclectic topics which is available on clipmarks. Glad that I'm a clipper......I end up spending more time on this site every week. I am meeting some really nice people too. It is sad to see that the media cannot be trusted; the truth is out there -- but who's truth?

Volcano erupts in Congo
kkcapricorn
by kkcapricorn  Yesterday 3:29 PM
The wildlife authority said the Nyamuragira eruption was likely to destroy habitat for 40 chimpanzees on the volcano's lower slopes. Virunga National Park is also home to 200 endangered mountain gorillas, but they live on the slopes of the Mikena volcano to the east of Nyamuragira. The Smithsonian Museum of Natural History calls Nyamuragira the continent's most active volcano, with 42 eruptions since 1885. Its most recent eruption ended in December 2006.

Congresswoman Dina Titus urges constituents to print their own money
kkcapricorn
by kkcapricorn  Yesterday 3:21 PM
Earlier in the year, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner unveiled a new program designed to combat falling prices, called the No Sales & Low Prices, or NOSLOP, program. The target is for consumer staples to rise at least four or five times wages. So far, the efforts have failed to make prices rise substantially. This failure has been blamed on inadequate money printing measures by the Fed. "The Treasury has a plurality of tools at its disposal to combat price deflation and prevent people from finding bargains. We all know that consumers get upset at low prices, so we started a new program called No Sales & Low Prices . We are asking consumers to report any store that is advertising anything as being on sale, or if they find anything on a store shelf that is marked down," said Treasury Secretary Geithner. It is now a federal felony to lower prices without the approval of President Obama's Consumer Price Czar.

I sent the e-mail to the PM, but I would like some input from my Canadian clipper friends before I sign the petition, if in fact, the petition is not limited to Canadian citizens. ------------------------------------------------------------ Wherever you are in the world, please send your thoughts on Bill C-6 and the government’s attempts to eliminate Canadians’ health rights and constitutional freedoms directly to Prime Minister Stephen Harper pm@pm.gc.ca Also, lawyer Shawn Buckley has drafted a fairer Charter of Health Freedoms to replace the regressive and undemocratic Bill C-6. Please sign it and ask everyone you know to sign it: charterofhealthfreedom.org For more information about Bill C-6, visit: nhppa.org/

Does Death Exist? New Theory Says 'No'
thisnamecantbetaken

This was clear with the death of my sister Christine. After viewing her body at the hospital, I went out to speak with family members. Christine's husband - Ed - started to sob uncontrollably. For a few moments I felt like I was transcending the provincialism of time. I thought about the 20-watts of energy, and about experiments that show a single particle can pass through two holes at the same time. I could not dismiss the conclusion: Christine was both alive and dead, outside of time.

Sun & Moon Trigger Earthly Tremors
kkcapricorn
by kkcapricorn  12-30-2009    1
it seems like it must be very subtle, because we actually don't see a tidal signal in regular earthquakes. Even though the earthquake zone also sees the tidal stress and also feels the added periodic behavior of the tremor below, they don't seem to be very bothered. It is certainly in the realm of reasonable conjecture that tremors are stressing the fault zone above it. The deep San Andreas Fault is moving faster when tremors are more active, presumably stressing the seismogenic zone, loading the fault a little bit faster. And that may have a relationship to stimulating earthquake activity.

Food of the Week: Garbanzo Beans

Purée garbanzo beans, olive oil, fresh garlic, tahini and lemon juice to make a quick and easy hummus spread. Sprinkle garbanzo beans with your favorite spices and herbs and eat as a snack. Add garbanzo beans to your green salads. Make a middle Eastern-inspired pasta dish by adding garbanzo beans to penne mixed with olive oil, feta cheese and fresh oregano. Simmer cooked garbanzo beans in a sauce of tomato paste, curry spices, and chopped walnuts and serve this dahl-type dish with brown rice. Adding garbanzo beans to your vegetable soup will enhance its taste, texture and nutritional content.

States Of Consciousness
kkcapricorn
by kkcapricorn  12-19-2009    1
The third state of consciousness is being awake. This is the state most of us are in most of the time. Measurable brain activity during the waking state of consciousness is quite different when compared with brain activity during both sleep and dreaming. The fourth state of consciousness occurs when we actually glimpse the soul, when we transcend, when we become, even for a fraction of a moment, absolutely still and quiet and become aware of the observer inside us. This state of consciousness occurs during meditation, when we experience the gap, that quiet moment between our thoughts. The fifth state is called cosmic consciousness, the sixth state divine consciousness, and the seventh state unity consciousness. Adapted from The Spontaneous Fulfillment of Desire, by Deepak Chopra (Three Rivers Press).

Secrets to Gas Control

There are a few other things you can do to reduce your gas production – like quitting smoking. Non-sugar sweeteners, widely used in foods and low-cal sweets, can cause excessive gas production. "In the process of passing through the intestinal tract, they interact with bacteria in the colon and produce gas,"
