POPSMcCain gaffes pile up; critics pile on McCain's mistakes raise a serious, if uncomfortable question: Are the gaffes the result of his age? And what could that mean in the Oval Office? Voters, thinking about their own relatives, can be expected to scrutinize McCain’s debate performances for signs of slippage

POPSKucinich pursues impeachment This separation of powers was expressly intended to prevent a President from unilaterally summoning troops to war in the manner of a king. Are we willing to respect our institution, our Constitution and ourselves? Will this President, at last, be held accountable for lying to Congress to gain authorization for the use of force against Iraq? Will we allow future Presidents to take office knowing they can commit the same acts with impunity? Tomorrow I will bring forth a single article of impeachment which reviews the factual misrepresentations the President made to Congress to induce a favorable vote for the authorization for war. The only question that remains is - - will we do anything about it?"

POPSSoldier refuses to serve in illegal war
Former army sergeant Kristofer Goldsmith told the landmark hearing of "lawless murders, looting and the abuse of countless Iraqis." He spoke of the psychologically fragile men and women who return from Iraq to find little help or treatment offered from official circles. Goldsmith said he had "self-medicated" for several months to treat the wounds of the war. Another soldier told AFP he had to boost his medication to treat anxiety and social agoraphobia -- two of many lingering mental wounds he carries since his deployments in Iraq -- before testifying. Some 300,000 of the 1.6 million US soldiers who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, depression or both, an independent study showed last month. A group of veterans in the packed hearing room gazed blankly as their comrades' testimonies shattered the official version that the US effort in Iraq is succeeding. Almost to a man, the testifiers denounced serious flaws in the chain o

POPSAnti-war march across upstate NY 10days The longer this war continues, the more harm is done to our men and women in service, their families, our communities, the people of Iraq, and the world. It must stop. New York wants it to stop," said Lena Posner, another organizer.

POPSSheehan gets standing ovation Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill said that Pelosi, too, is frustrated with the ongoing war in Iraq but believes that impeachment would be divisive and distract Congress from improving the lives of working families. Does this mean that we have a Congress unable to multi-task? If the government can't impeach & arrest it's criminals, what use are they?

POPSNJ protesters greet Bush Some protesters like Patricia Kuc, of Wrightstown, want Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney impeached for starting the war in Iraq, among other reasons. When asked if she thought that would ever happen, she said, "No, unfortunately not, because the Republicans and the Democrats all play to the same tune." Kuc said she would like Bush and Cheney impeached for "tearing up our Constitution, creating an illegal war of aggression against people who didn't do anything to us and abandoning all of our civil rights." "We're going to be living in a fascist country very soon," she said. "The powers that has instilled in himself will go on to the next president and we will be in big trouble."

POPSIncreasing number of vision problems in troops In this war, blast injuries have become the signature injuries. These can cause damage to the eye. They can also cause damage to the visual system and the visual processing centers in the brain," VA research psychologist Gregory Goodrich said.

POPSCheney interview - someone needs to slap this guy I doubt that the video will play, you will probably have to go to the site.. This creature slithered out of disgusting slime and is a threat to everyone. He says Bushie has it worst because he is the one who decided to send in the troops. Then he emphasizes that it's an All Volunteer force. If you ever need to throw up, save this clip and watch it.

POPSHorrors of Viet Nam/Horrors of Iraq Hermann Goering, said, "Why – of course the people don't want war. Why should some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally the common people don't want war neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."

POPSWar Veterans to share "truth" about Iraq Hmm, Wonder how Bushie will handle this one. These courageous men & women are our hope for the future. They went to defend their country. When they saw the true horrors occurring, they realized that it was wrong, and have the courage to stand up and say so. They are thinkers, decision makers and have personal moral codes. They don't blindly "follow- orders" or succumb to the propaganda spoon fed to them. I applaud each and every one of them.

POPSKing George here to stay??? Now almost anything he deems can cause seizure of any or all property of that person accused, and in this case accusing is the same as finding guilt making bush the prosecuting attorney, the judge amd the executioner, he also gives the same right to the Secretary of the Treasury as he does with the Iraq EO. In addition to the punishment making one penniless with no savings, no car, no money and no belongings meaning you will be on the street, his EO bans anyone from giving you, or your family anything, even food or clothing or money--a death sentence, fitting for a sadist like bush

POPSReport puts hidden war costs at $1.6 Trillion A family of four would be paying $16,500 to fund the war from 2002 to 2008, and the report speculates on the war continuing until 2017, where it estimates the expenditure to be $3.5 Trillion, at 46,400, per family. The Bush budget figures are likely to be specific spending allocations, without as much accounting for "co-lateral damage", even when the damage is to US Citizens.

POPSBush to Democrats "We are at War"
Bush blames the democrats for poor veterans programs, due to their unwillingness to rubber stamp military spending. He talks about allowing the likes of Hitler, and "Lenin, and the consequences.
