Why I use Clipmarks
I Love the convenience of saving the "important" part of articles which I enjoy.
I appreciate the wealth of knowledge on eclectic topics which is available on clipmarks. Glad that I'm a clipper......I end up spending more time on this site every week. I am meeting some really nice people too. It is sad to see that the media cannot be trusted; the truth is out there -- but who's truth?

Easy Way to Request Hotfix from Microsoft
kkcapricorn
by kkcapricorn  8-31-2008
In case you are wondering, all the hotfixr site really does is submit a form that redirects you to this Microsoft page, replacing ID with the number that you put in. http://support.microsoft.com/hotfix/KBHotfix.aspx?kbnum=ID But it still saves you an extra step, probably worth bookmarking if you do a lot of maintenance on Microsoft products.

On line threats materializing faster
kkcapricorn
by kkcapricorn  7-29-2008
online criminals have latched on to programs that help them automatically generate attacks based on publicly available information about vulnerabilities. In the past they apparently spent more time finding such holes themselves, but no longer find that as necessary. "The bad guys are not the ones actively finding vulnerabilities - they've shifted their business to standing on the shoulders of the security research community," Kris Lamb, operations manager for X-Force, said in an interview. "They don't have to do the hard work anymore. Their job is packaging what's been provided to them."

computer virus Part 2
kkcapricorn
by kkcapricorn  9-4-2007    3
I have been infected, which is the reason I need to put this in 2 parts - I no longer can cut and paste. It never showed up on any of my security programs:ZoneAlarm, SpySweeper,Spyblaster(did find some compromised sites) SpyBot Search & Destroy AVG antivirus, anti-spy,rootkit detector, Ccleaner, & on & on. I bought a new computer mine was so infected.
