POPSWhat could be more democratic? Bush may have the courage to debate, but not the talent and skills necessary for a free form debate where the questions and issues are not pre-screened and pre-spun. Oh and of course there is the matter of historical record. The US will not be able to take the high ground. The usual putdowns and re-writing of history typical of the Fox News Ditto Head Bushies won't fly in such a debate. What is worse is that if Bush declines, he will lose face in the Arab world and be seen as weak and cowardly. Not that he had much respect in the first place, but still.

POPSA right-wing corporate trick? I called this a few days ago. Something didn't feel right about it to me, especially all the modern, lefty references. I really doubt if Bin Laden sits around reading Chomsky. This speech is something cooked up in some right wing audio studio using voice-replicating software -- it does exist. I've noticed that Fox News has already been doing their best to point out the common ground between the Left and the arguments made in Bin Laden's speech. They resort to dirty tactics because they have nothing real or good that they are fighting for. Soldier on against this evil regime.

POPSUniversal Health Care = Terrorism This is a good example of "jumble-speak" -- by associating one concept with a negative one (terrorism) in the flow of conversation, they get linked together in the idiotic dump-hole that s the TV viewer's mind. Shut the TV off people!
