POPSDoomsday - The Mayan Prophesy December 21st, 2012. I probably won't be home that day, but I'll catch it later on youtube, I reckon. Jokes aside, they say the Mayan (or Atzec) calender is the most accurate ever made. Their doomsday is not so much about the end of time, but of the beginning or dawn of a new age of enlightenment. I think it's worth a gander. ;) This video explains the Mayan calender pretty well. Part one of three; The Mayan Calender Unveiled

POPSAmazing Close Up Views Of Tornados This one is for my mom. She absolutely is terrified and fascinated by tornadoes she is absolutely going to love these photos. They are just fantastic. Mother Nature will never cease to be an amazing and awe inspiring joy to watch. While I will never feel anything but sympathy for the terror and destruction that these storms leave in their path from these photos I can see the reason why my mother is glued to the TV anytime live video of these monsters comes up. Enjoy, I know my mom will ;)

POPSKindness Does Extend Beyond Us Just an interesting little study about a debate that I am sure will not rest here. I have worked with chimps in the past and I do not find it very surprising that chimps would be so giving to unrelated members of their species. But as it usually is in science, what you feel is not always what you find. Let the debates continue.

POPSCNN Makes Paris More Important than Health Care CNN, in my opinion, is no longer to be considered a reputable source of important and relevant news. Although I realize Michael Moore is publicizing his new film SICKO, which is of course, self-serving, the film is about an issue of great importance and relevance to the entire country. To bump this discussion of such a critical matter in favour of an interview with Paris Hilton who is relevant to nothing of importance in the overall serious issues confronting our country is an insult to what the news media is supposed to be all about.

POPSGoogle Browser Coming Your Way Soon? I think the most interesting think to note out of this whole article is the fact that Google has regestered the domain name gbrowser.com. While they may just be covering all of their bases I think that this bodes well for a future release of their own browser. I am sure that some of you will see this as another indication that Google is taking over the world, and while that may be true, I am not quite convinced that Google is as evil as some are making them out to be. Or maybe they are taking over Mwahahahah :)

POPSCockroaches Are Not Morning People Just could not help clipping this seemingly useless piece of information. I wonder how much money was allocated for this study? Another waste of tax dollars perhaps?

POPSVirtual Business Interesting article. Despite the drawbacks I believe that it can be assumed that the future of the web, and business conducted on the web, will be done more virtually than it is done at the present time. Because of this business will have to adapt and learn how to run within a virtual environment like Second Life. Despite the present drawbacks I believe that this is all very exciting for the future of business and the web.

POPSCan Your Plants Recognize You? Plants have a secret social life. Apparently they can tell their siblings from plants not related to them, and in doing so compete against unrelated plants. Wow, and I thought the neighborhood cats were interesting.
