This practice was common among paramilitaries in Italy and Northern Ireland and has been reported from Gaza. Contrary to popular belief, the patella is usually not injured in these incidents; rather damage to soft tissues that include nerves and arteries is the primary target.

Oh, right, it's the GOP, which can jokingly threaten the use of guns against their political adversaries instead of engaging in debate, and it's just considered "funny." It wasn't so funny for 2 "liberal" church-goers who were gunned down by a right-winger whose hatred for liberals was incited by right-wing hate radio. Hate and fear are all the GOP have left. I don't defend Pelosi, in fact I'd like to see her gone from politics, but this little joke is beyond the pale. It is adolescent, offensive, and downright un-American.
