Creative people sleep on their work
johaygood
by johaygood  7-28-2008
Sleeping is what creative thinkers do. When a think-tank guy sleeps, he is not "sleeping on his job." He is. believe it or not, "working out" on his thoughts. This is an automatic occurrence for thinkers. they dont even know it's happening... sometimes. Then when they wake up, "Eureka!" They start typing in their thoughts and wont stop until it's done.

The resiliency of the filipino worker has never been put to the test as much as now. I daresay, things are rather in a very volatile situation.

Another Funny Deal, Filipino style, my Lord, not again!

Where do supposedly bright people get the idea that they can make a fool out of other people or even think of them to be thick? Is this some kind of the psychological projection, where you think others are as thick or as dense as you are? (Sa lahat ng ayoko, iyong ginagawa kang tanga!)

How about Community service as a prerequisite to graduation?
johaygood
by johaygood  7-13-2008
Ye, before an education student graduates, she should be required to render community service to orgs like EKK. Or maybe even prospective OFWs-- they should be required to render service to their country before leaving it.

A World Without Filipinos

I could have gone anywhere in the world if i wanted to, but I chose to stay. Call it idiosyncrasy, eccentricity, whatever, but the fact remains that my presence in my country has far enriched it more than if I left and followed the throng in search for greener pastures. You dont give up on those your love. And there is no love greater than your love for your country. Call it sweet lemons, but hey, there are a lot of us who do want to make a difference. Somebody's got to be different to give use and meaning to the word.

And what values do some of them teach?
johaygood
by johaygood  7-12-2008
Let's hear it straight from the mouth of babes: My second year high school daughter told me how their practice teacher asked them after a Math quiz who among them copied the answers from somebody else's paper and who among them allowed others to copy their answers. Quite a number raised their hands. The prcctice teacher took their papers and tore them into pieces. A Values teacher learned that two of her students are not in good terms. She asked them to make up and be friends, OR ELSE, "I will make your grades suffer." In high school, I also remember, on mondays we would have a quiz in religion class, usually 10 numbers. For the 10th number we would be asked, "Did u go to mass?" If answered "No" u get a crossed mark and if u answered "Yes" you get a check mark. Tell me what you think.
