Ten Ways to Make Sure That Peace Stays Dead
    Kore7
    by Kore7  11-28-2006    14
Too many people on each side see the other as wholly culpable. Too many people on each side see themselves as wholly innocent, wholly victimized, ill-served by the well-meaning, abandoned by former allies, betrayed by the media, misunderstood by people who should know better, forgotten by the world. Too many people on each side see only the suffering that has been caused them. Too many people have learned to wall themselves off from the suffering that they have caused.

From criminal, to terrorist, to killer, to Prime Minister, to Nobel Peace Prize winner, yes it had to be a Zionist. Menachem Begin was commander of the Irgun terrorist gang then more infamous and feared than today's al Qaeda . Begin wrote in his memoirs, The Revolt: " History and experience taught us that if we are able to destroy the prestige of the British in Palestine, the regime will break. Since we found the enslaving government's weak point, we did not let go of it. " Words that could be about the USA instead of the Brits by al Qaeda and not the Prime Minister of Israel. Any Arab terrorists have a long long way to go in the terrorist league to catch the Zionists.

The Israeli Invasion and Gaza's Offshore Gas Fields
    thisnamecantbetaken
    by thisnamecantbetaken  1-13-2009    10
In 2001 Ariel Sharon stated unequivocally that "Israel would never buy gas from Palestine" intimating that Gaza's offshore gas reserves belong to Israel. In May 2007, the Israeli Cabinet approved a proposal by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert "to buy gas from the Palestinian Authority." The proposed contract was for $4 billion, with profits of the order of $2 billion of which one billion was to go the Palestinians. Tel Aviv, however, had no intention on sharing the revenues with Palestine. The military occupation of Gaza is intent upon transferring the sovereignty of the gas fields to Israel in violation of international law.

Israel gives its American sugar-daddy the finger

    by Spiritualmonkey  5-28-2009    6
The Israeli settlements are built on illegally occupied Palestinian land. Plain & simple. If it's illegal to start with, why should a settlement be allowed to grow naturally? The Occupied Territories are not part of Israel, they are conquered land. Palestinian land. And international law forbids military occupiers to colonize foreign territory. This the the basic fact that The Israel Lobby 's propaganda campaigns aims to obscure. This is what all those UN resolutions condemning Israel and their brutal Apartheid (the ones the US AUTOMATICALLY blocks) are about. The settlements, and the illegal colonists who live in them, have to go. And don't get started on the "This is the land God promised to us" bullshit. Go ask God for billions of dollars a year, not the American Taxpayer.

I was inspired to come out of brief clip retirement by the state of the world we find ourselves in and by Ouyangwulong's inspiring comment . (New clippers, also consider this clip , which, like Orwell's quote, is depressingly apropos yet again.)

American Election: An Illusion of Democracy
    thisnamecantbetaken
    by thisnamecantbetaken  11-4-2008    4
A natural resources monopoly system was, thus, created in the US, and many parts of the world, based solely on capital gain and profit rather than the well being of human life. This power elite has gained total control over the American government and its departments, and dictates its laws and its foreign policies. In such a game the peoples’ choices are easily misled. The worst form of slavery is the one where slaves believe they are free. After the elections, there's still going to be massive problems to deal with. The "War on Terror", the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Guantanamo, surveillance, torture, climate change, Palestine etc. Who ever wins, don't forget both candidates are slaves to the system. It's really only the people, who in the end, can change things. Demand change, no matter who ends up in that big ol' White House. Don't forget.

CIA. "It is fair to say that this $50 billion a year a intelligence organization, supposedly the most competent in the world, was amazingly unaware of the plans or derelict in delivering intelligence. It is fair to say the CIA was guilty of neglect, incompetence and/or active participation with the government and all the usual suspects in coordinating an effort to create 9/11. This in order to bring about a coup of our “democratic” government. As a result, this same cadre declared war on Afghanistan, part of their larger "War on Terror," only days later, without any further investigation to determine “whodunit,” railroading a fearful Congress into agreement."

Warsaw Ghetto and Gaza: Disturbing Parallels

It was after the Jews in the ghetto had been largely killed or transported that the world stood up and felt guilty in not acting sooner. I question when the world will stand up and say: Enough is enough, there is not going to be a repeat of the Warsaw Ghetto and particularly when its perpetrators are those who suffered the most by its conduct.

Waterboarding Demo in Congress !? To Prove not Torture!?
    righthand
    by righthand  11-4-2007    9
"In the war crimes tribunals that followed Japan's defeat in World War II, the issue of waterboarding was sometimes raised. In 1947, the U.S. charged a Japanese officer, Yukio Asano, with war crimes for waterboarding a U.S. civilian. Asano was sentenced to 15 years of hard labor. "'All of these trials elicited compelling descriptions of water torture from its victims, and resulted in severe punishment for its perpetrators,' writes Evan Wallach in the Columbia Journal of Transnational Law." Begs the question. How could he be charged in WW2 with the WAR CRIME of waterboarding? The recipient was a civilian seemed to be the point? Well so are the detainees in Guantanamo Bay. If there were POWs then it would NOT be a WAR CRIME but as Bush says they are not POWs then it is a WAR CRIME.

    Palestine: The State History Forgot
    righthand
    by righthand  7-9-2008    4
Is it a joke of history that before there was the states of Lebanon, Jordan, Israel, Syria, etc there was Palestine? Now they all exist and Palestine doesn't yet. You will read that there never was a Palestine from a certain quarter and how can you miss what you never had. How you know they are lying! They'll say that as they are all Arabs that there's enough room for them all. It's like saying that the Scots Welsh and Irish are all Celts and one state would do them all! Yes, there was a time when such thinking was regarded as valid. If we had the Age of Imperialism back then the Brits might validly have a claim on the USA and most of the rest of the world. In the present imperialism, if the existent holder of the gunboat diplomacy role, the USA, decided to sort out Palestine's present difficulties it could in a breath. Hopefully in a more honourable fashion that the last gunboat holder did.

He regularly consults with the CIA and the Department of Defense—most recently on such hot-button topics as Iran and North Korea—and has a new book coming out in the fall that he cowrote with his pal Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. His curriculum vitae, which details his various Ph.Ds, academic appointments, editorial-board memberships, writings, honors, awards, and grants, runs 17 small-font pages long.

For those of you who are old enough to remember the time, what did you do and where did you stand on the issue of South African Apartheid? I know where I stood then and still do now. I'm with the UN Declaration of Human Rights . South Africa was forced to change when the civilized world turned it's back on them and enforce embargoes and divestment on them. Everything old is new again. Go to IfAmericansknew.org for more details on what manner of Apartheid our American tax dollars buys in Occupied Palestine.
