POPSR.I.P. Furl This raises a couple of issues. 1. One of the few options to do some serious organization and storing of online research is gone. I guess that leaves Diigo and Evernote. No offense to the Clipmarks guys, but I see Clipmarks as filling a different (but also important) niche, one more geared towards social news/sharing than research (namely because there is no way for a user to get an exhaustive list of their tags on Clipmarks, which is why I resorted to Evernote and Furl). 2. How much can we trust these Web 2.0 services to last? Furl transferred my clips to Diigo, but it looks like my cached copies are gone. Is there a good way to organize and store webpages that is guaranteed to last? I'm thinking local storage may be the only guarantee of that. I am pretty bummed out about this.

POPSUtility to rename taskbar buttons/window titles; rant against Microsoft This programmer started a thread in DonationCoder asking about utilities that would rename the titles that appear in the taskbar, something I've been wanting to do too. She found a solution involving AutoHotKey, it's a little bit cumbersome for me since I am not a programmer at all, but I thought I would share with you guys. I would also like to rant: it is practical stuff like this that Microsoft should be focusing on when it produces new OSes. Not fancy graphics and translucent windows.

POPSZotero - Online research tool A feature-rich citation manager built on top of Mozilla. Requires FF 2.0 to run. Mainly aimed at heavy users of online bibliographic databases. Getting a lot of hype. I'd like to try it, but I'm not interested in disabling all my FF 1.5.0.7 extensions.

POPSClipmarks Bug Report: Can't clip this page I am trying to clip all of the text in this Haaretz article (don't worry, it's for my private collection). For some reason, Clipmarks will not let me do this. It will let me select the entire article, but when I click on the "Save" button nothing happens (other than "clip mode" ending). I have run into this problem using Firefox 1.5.0.4 on my home PC, FireFox 1.5.0.3 on a university PC, IE on my home PC (IE gives me an error message). I even tried to copy all of the text into Google Notebook and the same problem occurs.

POPSIs 750GB a hard drive enough? Seagate's 750GB hard disk - what a Barracuda Seagate has been busy lately; offering a variety of new products to bolster their line up of desktop, notebook, and enterprise class hard drives. One of the more interesting development hard drive technology came back in January when Seagate launched the Momentus 5400.3 series of notebook hard drives, their first to use perpendicular recording technology. A few months later that technology made its way to the enterprise market, and now they are offering it in a desktop drive, the Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 (Model Number ST3750640AS). The Barracuda 7200.10 offers a variety of impressive features ...... The first things that will jump out at people is the massive capacity... 750 GB of storage on one disk! It seems that just a few short years ago, having a drive with 1/10 that capacity was considered alot.

POPSFirefox Mosaic Logo double click and maximize to see mosaic tiles. I can't really see the common theme, but it's still cool nonetheless.
