POPSThe design of streets, guidance in the UK A manual has just been produced for town designers. If implemented it will mean that the pedestrian and cyclist are top of the hierarchy in town streets rather than the motor car. Much overdue in my opinion. The cameraman has an unfortunate habit of falling asleep occasionally

POPScycling piccies cycling is too dangerous where I live that is why I am campaigning for 20mph zones. You'll need to centralise the slider as the pictures are slightly too big for the frame

POPSAn example of a civilizing trend in UK cities Well done Norwich councillors, standing up to the officers who often seem to be against these schemes. I believe that the vociferous motoring lobby gives them more hassle than they can cope with. This is a long term process to change the culture. There are very popular tv programmes which unfortunately encourage the treatment of the public highway as a sports arena.

POPS20mph the default speed in towns? This will come and the sooner the better. Norwich wanted to introduce a townwide limit of 20 and the engineers said it would cost £10M to install! This is a total nonsense. With 20 the default speed there would be need for the few 30mph signs only

POPS20mph blanket limit for Oxford Good news for the the city of dreaming spires but if it will cost £300,000 for Oxford how come it will cost Norwich ten million pounds to do the same thing?
