POPSObama Scrubs website of surge criticism Yes, I'm always supportive of something that has been proven successful too. A little late though. Nice try Obama. After you trounced the efforts, the policy, the military...now that the surge has made significant progress, you want to slap them on the back and join the chorus of "Good job, guy!"

POPSObama Softens on Iraq Withdrawal Timeline So the naive Senator is learning that things aren't as easy to "change" as his rhetoric once suggested. Funny how a little more information about a subject and a closer step to the Presidency can make a person realize that things are different in the real world verses the campaign world.

POPSConfidence Poll Well, it's not surprising. I am pleased that, even though it's lower than I would have expected, the military was at the top. Congress is, indeed, in the very pit.

POPSHillary Makes Obama's VP Short List Oh gross. If he chooses her he really is as innocent & naive as I think. Of course, he said last week to ignore all the media hype about his VP choices, so I hope this is hype. But then Wesley Clark is equally a wimp. Evan Bayh might be the pick of the litter or Sam Nunn.

POPSCocky Ignorance An attempt to appear relevant, authoritative, confrontational toward soon-to-be subordinates. Political hay over a serious issue.

POPSCongress Holds Troops Hostage, Budget Director Says AND when the President vetoes this bill, who will get blamed for not supporting the troops? Congress, again, shows their utter contempt for the American process, it's military, our tax dollars, the intelligence of it's citizens. Blackmail, pure and simple. If Congress does not want America troops in Iraq then take the stand, vote, and deal with the consequences. But they won't because they KNOW it is not in our national interests to do so; but they will play politics with every ounce of treachery they can muster against this Administration, our military personnel, and the responsible use of OUR money.

POPSAl-Qaeda Iraq leader 'arrested' This is wait-and-see since he was said to have been killed last year, I think. The word "detained" is troubling, indicating that there might be a chance for his release; but maybe the BBC was being polite & diplomatic. He had a $5m bounty on his head. Even if he has been captured an amazing *escape* is always possible.

POPSSaddam and Qaeda Some interesting reading from the cache of info confiscated by the military. And they are just scratching the surface.

POPSUS navy sonar takes precedence over whales: Bush So, the President, whose main responsibility is to protect US citizens and establish national security, has given precedence to naval operations over the protection of sea mammals off-shore. Amazing. A President who places protection of us over animals. What a novel idea! He'll be blasted but whatever.......Save the whales, save the manatees, save the forests, save the Everglades, save the panthers....you name it. We DO have a responsibility to protect and secure our environment, but this stuff (and other restrictions that thwart energy independence and security) is ridiculous. Both can be accomplished.
1
POPSReport: Pakistan's Bhutto assassinated The people who do these things are animals. I doubt that Musharraf is behind this as someone is trying to do the same thing to him. More news is coming in. Horrible, just horrible.
2
POPSCorner Shot I saw this reported at BreitbartTV but couldn't clip it from there. Please don't think I'm a really weird person but this concept amazed me; especially the under-the-car scene. It's ingenius. You military-types most certainly already knew about this, but I didn't. At first I couldn't stop laughing, then I realized it's deadly!

POPSIraqi oil exceeds pre-war output More good news. I also read that the Iraqi army has assumed most all of the security responsibilities for the pipelines. As the world markets begin to invest more into the Iraqi oil business, I think the level of improving conditions will occur even faster. AND the sooner that happens, the sooner the majority of our military can come home.

POPSStupid Intelligence My goodness. Even Alan Dershowitz recognizes an incomplete, flawed, and/or misinterpreted assessment of Iran's nuclear program. Yet, those with the BDS have hopped on the NIE as though it were handed down from God.
4
POPSGoogle Earth used to target Israel This really isn't surprising except that these people so proudly talk about it. I'm sure Israel has something better than Google Earth. But here's the confusing thing. We're fighting terrorists around the world, but we're helping them get their own "State"! right within Israel. Is this insane?
3
POPSSAS raiders enter Iran to kill gunrunners An interesting term: "...ambushing arms smugglers". This may explain somethings from another news article describing attacks into Sadr City. "The military said "an estimated 49 criminals" were killed in three separate engagements during a raid targeting a suspected rogue Shiite militia leader specializing in kidnapping operations for which he sought funding from Iran."

POPSVladimir Putin pledges to complete Iranian nuclear reactor Whoa! The stakes are getting higher! So what does our government do? Allow them to strengthen themselves more, forge more alliances, and wait for their move against the US and our national interests? the security interests of Europe? against Israel? Who, among our Presidential candidates, actually believes they have the wisdom, the fortitude, the power to deal with the major problems waiting for them? Frankly, I don't see any one among them qualified for the responsibility.

POPSSanchez: Media's Reporting of Iraq War Endangered Soldiers' Lives Whoa! I hadn't heard this part of his conversation. I wonder why? And concerning this assessment....I could not agree more. Perhaps if the media hadn't been so aggressively portraying the situation in Iraq so inaccurately, the 'nightmare' would not have been such as he considered it.

POPSBlast at secret Syrian missile site kills dozens More revelations about the Syrian missile system mess of a few months ago. Surely this is related to Israel's military movement against them this past week. This establishes the Iranian/Syrian connection that has been scantily reported in our media and it's obvious where these missiles would be pointed.

POPSMoveOn.org Calls Petraeus a Traitor Didn't this Congress 'approve' this General's appointment to go to Iraq? Didn't they ask for a report? He ought to hand out blank sheets of paper to them all, considering they've all dismissed his assessment even before he's made it. Our military's efforts and progress has been undermined and ridiculed by these haters. Mark my word, they are doing nothing to help our soldiers get home sooner. They embolden our enemies there, weaken the resolve of the Iraqi people and it's struggling government, and encourage our allies to desert the conflict there because this creates doubts about America's resolve. You can disagree about why we went there and people are free to speak and vote their consciences, but this kind of rhetoric says to me that 'the pot is calling the kettle black'. (sorry for the advertisement; couldn't get it out)

POPSOffiers' role in Christian video probed If this were not so tragic, this would be absurd. Another hate-group seeking to erase an individual's freedom of religious expression. Just because you're in the military, or wear a uniform, a person is not allowed to make comments supportive of your religious persuasion? Another anti-Christian on a crusade. Oh, and wanting "oversight hearings"? Just what this Congress does best. Ooooooo...and against the Defense Department. Ms. O'Hare, where ever you are...observe your legacy. :~(

POPSBeauchamp Recants Thankfully, people were on this from the start. If there was a "smidgen" of truth, then investigate it. If he is 'recanting' then let it be published as quickly and thoroughly as his articles.
