POPSSenate OKs promotions of Iraqi generals Petraeus certainly deserves the promotion but I hope it's not too soon for him to leave his post. Everyone has a propensity to change things around once they start to go well.

POPSUS removes uranium from Iraq ?????? What??!!! FTA: "Earlier this year, the military withdrew four devices for controlled radiation exposure from the former nuclear complex. The lead-enclosed irradiation units, used to decontaminate food and other items, contain elements of high radioactivity that could potentially be used in a weapon,..."

POPSDrivers Say US Should Drill for Oil on Federal Lands The hypocrisy is amazing. The US government (?) wants other countries to drill for more oil in their land but we can't touch our own. Drill! And while we're doing it, Congress needs to free up the fast tracks for nuclear, solar, coal and wind. Frankly, I don't care what the rest of the world is paying for a gallon of gas. That's for *their* people to address. If Congress wants to ruin our economy completely...they'll do nothing. And a ruined American economy is a very serious problem for the rest of the World.

POPS'Bush Lied'? If Only it Were That Simple What I have objected to all along is that there was something sinister and self-promoting about the move into Iraq by this Administration. And not mentioned are the UN Resolutions which Iraq failed to comply. The world is repeating the process with Iran.
4
POPSOPEC strangling American economy I can't really agree with this. Our Congress has done more to "strangle" us than any foreign agency. IF we allow this to continue, we will be the object of our enemies manipulation and blackmail. Like every other *serious* issue, Congress has sat on it's hands for several decades...promoting band aid solutions instead of acting responsibly to make us energy independent. Lay the blame where it belongs; at the Halls of Congress.

POPSFrench Court Confirms: Al-Dura Report Faked I don't think this will make as huge an impression as the initial report. As all know, the damage is already done and nothing will change the mood on the Arab Street. This report was fake and the smoke plumes were fake....how much more??

POPSBush, Obama, and Terror Anything that opposes one's particular opinion is now called a "political attack"?? So how are people to explain their positions that differ with anothers? Pres. Bush' comments are consistent with his entire Administration's position. The real problem is that *the shoe fits* but it's not the one Obama wants to wear right now. And frankly, Pres. Bush could have been referring to Mr. Carter who has also been used as a tool of the enemies of Israel and the US.

POPSDestroy Iran's nukes to save our cities I think the threat is a lot worse than our leaders are letting on. The article points out that because al-qaeda is such a splintered group, with pockets of their terrorist everywhere, and practically worshiping death, they are not bothered by the concern of retaliation. Their #1 goal is destruction of us and our civilization....as Bin Laden sits in his cave.

POPS'Iran smuggling arms into Gaza by sea' This is just sickening. When this powder keg finally blows, the US and Europe have no one to blame but themselves for failing to deal with the rampant (and obvious) smuggling of weapons into the area. And they all *know* that these weapons are for ONE purpose and it's not for making "peace in the region".
1
POPSU.S foes target Latin America They ARE moving in; regardless of what some are trying to say. With Iran's help and the money already in oil-rich Venezuela, the thugs, drug lords and terrorists-for-hire are growing. Sadly, since our government doesn't act against the open threats made against the United States on the world scene, our southern borders will become much like what we see in Israel.
3
POPSIran Strengthens South America Ties Old article from Sept. 2007. Clipped to remind us that Iran is extending it's influence into oil-rich dictatorships in the Southern Hemisphere. Some may minimize this and other such events. However, that's not very wise considering his very open hatred against all things American.

POPSA New Disgrace at HuffPo I've watched and heard the tapes as most people who watch the news have. This man, who is an executive in the music and film industry, is repeating the line of some in Iran. Why this piece? To continue to insinuate that our enemies are more credible than our government and our military.

POPSUS Describes Confrontation With Iranian Boats I believe that this was designed to raise the level of instability in the region; perhaps to dissuade the President from going to the region. Personally, I wish he wasn't going. There is nothing to be gained; especially not within the Palestinian/Israeli *peace plan*. Frankly it was a little reminiscent of the USS Cole incident.

POPSIran Receives Nuclear Fuel in Blow to US It appears that the entire world is determined to help Iran with it's nuclear program. The small voices of resistance are being ignored, but at some point Iran will have the upper hand and demand that the world submit to it's domination.
1
POPSIranian opposition: Teheran resumed nuke program in 2004 This makes sense based on everything else that is coming out. I haven't read all the articles available, but does anyone remember if the report even suggested that the program had *not* been restarted? I seemed like the media took a phrase/paragraph and ran with it. The US can't be building a national security policy on just that.

POPSStupid Intelligence My goodness. Even Alan Dershowitz recognizes an incomplete, flawed, and/or misinterpreted assessment of Iran's nuclear program. Yet, those with the BDS have hopped on the NIE as though it were handed down from God.

POPSCIA Shortcomings Infuriated Nixon, Newly Released Documents Reveal Well, I would like to believe that this was only against Republican Presidents; but I won't go that far. I truly believe that our leaders expect the intelligence community to be omniscient, but there is also a need for of the *people* to realize that all in leadership are exactly that....just people. However, I have done a lot of reading that the Dept. of State and the CIA lean very heavily towards a "Left"-leaning world view. Now having said that, and based on things that I've seen over the last several years, I'd hate to think that anyone would knowingly undercut our Country to settle political scores.

POPSIraq Says Stay Yoo-hoo. At last; some returns for our investments. Jump in. There's lots to argue over. Hey environmentalists, now we can preserve our shores, glaciers, air and rivers. US businesses can expand their markets. We can keep a close eye on Iran, Russia, Syria, China, etc.... Concerning the 'oil-for-food' problem that the UN members, in violation to it's own mandates, exploited and profited from... the Iraqi people and the world can now mutually benefit.
1
POPSDecision time for US over Iran threat Will the *free world* repeat history and drag it's feet...allowing another insane dictator to hold it hostage? We are hearing it from all sides now; not just the US. So is the intell bogus? Is the threat real? Will we all be safer next year, having spent the time with *diplomatic* appeals?
4
POPSUS 'most important UK ally' - Brown Whoa! I thought the US and our President Bush were persona non grata. Has something changed? Do the leaders of England, France, Germany know something that the average US citizen doesn't understand? Perhaps the world isn't the Land of Oz. Maybe our politicians have glossed over the threats that are mounting, maybe the leaders of the *free world* have had a wake-up call. Or maybe we've all just received incorrect intell; everything is ok and we can all go about our business...as usual. You decide.

POPSBush and Sarkozy find common ground against Iran Ahhhhh...this feels much better. Begone, Chriac!! And thank you, Mr. Sharkozy, for your eloquent expressions of appreciation for those Americans who gave their lives for the freedom of France. My husband's uncle is one who never returned. It seems he might know a lot about terrorism and oppression.

POPSHugh Hewitt interviews John Bolton Hugh Hewitt addresses some very important issues related to the course of America...Iran, Pakistan, N. Korea, President Bush and his policies. Interesting views even if you hate him....or all three of them.

POPSSAS raiders enter Iran to kill gunrunners An interesting term: "...ambushing arms smugglers". This may explain somethings from another news article describing attacks into Sadr City. "The military said "an estimated 49 criminals" were killed in three separate engagements during a raid targeting a suspected rogue Shiite militia leader specializing in kidnapping operations for which he sought funding from Iran."
