Afghan outlook bleak as Taliban grabs territory
    jatfla
    by jatfla  10-11-2009
While Obama plans his Peace Prize speech, our declared enemy is defeating our military for lack of commitment by their Commander-in-Chief. This is a travesty. The Taliban will, again, make Afghanistan it's launching site for terror attacks against the West, enslave it's population, and the soldiers who gave their lives there will have done it for nothing. All because of a lack of will. Well Ms Michelle says that she is now proud of America....I couldn't be more ashamed of her husband's treachery and abandonment. This is aiding our enemies and undermining the American soldier. Shame! This is Vietnam times TEN.

Senate votes to deny funds to ACORN
    jatfla
    by jatfla  9-14-2009
Well, pigs do fly!! "Sen. Mike Johanns, R-Neb., said that ACORN has received $53 million in taxpayer funds since 1994 and that the group was eligible for a wider set of funding in the pending legislation, which funds housing and transportation programs. " I suppose it's all conservative blogger/talk-show hosts' fault for bringing this to the Senate's attention. Thank goodness. It's about time that *somebody* began investigating corruption. Now...on to Congress.

Pelosi will let Rangel hold post despite latest allegations
    jatfla

FTA: There is also the danger of alienating members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), a large bloc of liberals in the Democratic Caucus. Many of them take pride in the fact that one of their members sits atop Ways and Means. Pelosi: Jan. 2006 ""It is long past time for the Congress to address the systemic Republican culture of corruption that has undermined the American people's confidence in this institution," Pelosi said. "I am proud that some of the best minds in our Caucus will be leading the Democratic effort to clean up the corrupt Republican Congress. These great leaders will work to restore truth and trust to the People's House." Hypocrite.

    by jatfla  6-29-2009    1
Amen to the last statement of the clip. I'm sick of all of them. Only within the last few years have I begun to realize how corrupted Washington (and everyone, I guess) truly is. I'll admit to being naive because I was raised to be honest...or suffer the consequences. If other high-profile names can be prosecuted and sent to prison...why not these?? And I don't care about their Party affiliation.

We are so stupid. The US is being encircled while our citizenry is preoccupied with American Idol, the corruption in Washington, Michelle's arms, the squabbles among the GOP, the government take-over of GM, etc..... None of which will matter in a year or so.

CIA gave Pelosi a headsup before Panetta smackdown
    jatfla
    by jatfla  5-18-2009    1
Don't you just want to gag. "..our policy..."? How long has Panetta been in his position? Does he know what the policy is? I have never read of so much CYA as this attempt to clear Pelosi, all the while laying the blame for this on the past Administration. It all is sickening and the average citizen wonders what kind of people are in charge of this once great Country. Corruption abounds. :~( There is no shame.

Congress, which is always looking for things to investigate and form committees of oversight, sure need to deal with this organization. Like many large groups, it may do some good things, but the corruption is obvious and those involved need to be prosecuted.

Republicans Poised to Leap on Spending Abuses
    jatfla
    by jatfla  2-19-2009    6
I don't care which party it is or who it might be. This thing ('stimulus package') is so huge that it would take an army of monitors to maintain true accountability. I think many Americans might support the efforts behind the 'package' if they truly believed that it wasn't throwing good money after bad and that bad investments, bad management, and pure corruption were not going to be the main profiteers of all our money. As to the idea that Republicans want the project to fail so they can look good...well, I find that highly offensive. I, for one, do not. I think it was a stupid idea. Even the current Administration acknowledges it doesn't know what all's in it as does the very Congress responsible for it. Only stupid people sign on the dotted line without knowing the obligations it will entail.

    jatfla
    by jatfla  10-19-2007
This from the LATimes! I don't believe this is news; political campaigns =corruption. Mrs. Clinton's campaign is suspect due to the recent revelations with Mr. Hua (sp), her husband's past suspicious connections with Chinese donations, the sheer amount of dollars in her treasure chest. I just wish the *journalists* would investigate campaign corruption as aggressively as they did Florida's ballots and voting machines in 2000.

He's back: Sandy Berger now advising Hillary Clinton
    jatfla
    by jatfla  10-8-2007    4
Amazing! Though not so surprising. These people have no shame. Any Republican involved in *unusual* sex is tarred & feathered. They are accused of 'phony' slander and denounced on the Senate floor. They have a memory lapse and are convicted of perjury. Yet, Mr. Berger gets a slap on the wrist for stealing classified information and then lying about it. But he only has to bide his time and wait for the Clintons to call and he's back at their political and corrupted money trough. Any American, Rep. or Dem., should be appaulled that a convicted National Security chief would be hired to work for and advise a potential President of the United States.

Just to get some discussion going since Fox is always criticized for being Right-Wing. Their reporters are excellent...in my opinion. They are *there* in the midst of things. Jennifer Griffith, Harrigan, the guy who covers the UN, etc... they put their lives in danger to show the actual conflict/corruption that is going on. Then "you decide".

Does this bother anyone else? So he willingly gave up his law license to avoid answering "embarrassing" questions; big deal. I don't think any of us would have the same options if we had been caught with highly classified documents in our possession. Things like this reminds me of how corrupt our government has become.
