POPSRefrendum 1 - Bag Fee - Seattle Excellent well reasoned article from the reluctant pro side. I'm still on the fence but still likely to vote no. I already reduce my bag consumption (could do better). I think 20cents across the board (both plastic and paper) is unwarranted. Either ban the plastic or have a tiered fee (15cents for plastic and 8cents for paper).

POPSEnd of the P-I is Tomorrow So long P-I, I will miss you on my door step. I'm not ready to switch to the Times (of course that reluctance will not help the Times survive).

POPSSeattle P-I may close This is my paper and while I've been disappointed in the continued reduction of the size and scope of the paper, I will miss it if it closes.

POPSSea-Tac: Travel Near Standstill One stranded traveler headed to Portland thought they should have just driven. Sounds like a great plan. If the planes aren't flying, what makes you think driving is going to be easy, or possible?

POPSNewspaper Not Dead - At Least for Today A total run on newspapers as people snatch them up for mementos. Somehow storing the internet article on your hard drive is not quite the same as sticking the front page of the newspaper in a box in the attic.

POPSDigital E-Paper If they can get the feel correct I'm looking forward to the flexible wireless screen and downloadability of the e-paper. Although I do like the ability to very quickly scan the print newspaper. I don't think that they will be able to truly replicate that experience.

POPSWhat the new taxes cost Seattle They do have a point - there is a growing riff between the social policy liberal Democratic Party and the Labor Union Democratic Party. It is hard to see why the two joined the same party except that the other major party was totally inhospitable to either of their agendas.
