About me
A fourty-something guy interested in history, philosophy, archaeology, information technologies and literature. A vegetarian, libertarian, agnostic and book worm. A smoker, loves alcoholic drinks (Bourbon and Raki are favourites). Using the net since mid 1990's. Married, has no children. Loves cats, plants (has lots of pots in his home), deeply in love with the seas. A sci-fi fan - but very selective: such as Philippe K. Dick, Ray Bradbury, Arthur C. Clarke. Strongly believes the world will experience catastrophic transformations in and around year 2012.
Why I use Clipmarks
Because it is the best online tool I have ever used to collect, categorize and archive information, as well as being an ideal community environment. Clipmarks has become an addiction for me in just a few months.

Clipmarks getting publicity on Internet media
invictus
by invictus  8-10-2007    1
Looks like Eric Eldon's article on VentureBeat brought a wide media coverage and publicity to Clipmarks (which is good, I personally believe.) This report is from CNET.

1321 clips? What happened to my other 850?
invictus
by invictus  3-28-2007    6
Looks like my too-long-to-pop clips from the "ancient times" have disappeared from the statistics. I rushed to search my collections and whew, luckily they were still there! :-) So archaic clippers like me, don't panic if you see your total clips number appears "reduced" on your page. ;-) You still have them. :-)

New CM shirts and their virtual versions for Second Life
invictus
by invictus  3-8-2007    7
As some of you would probably remember, I made some Clipmarks t-shirts four months ago and placed the package at popular freebie places at Second Life, as a free giveaway. By now, more than one thousand people got that shirts package. But now, forget those old stuff. There's the new freebie package with the brand new Clipmarks shirts. Almost identical with the real ones, so you can make your avatar wear them and spread the word in the metaverse too.

Clipmarks - Supergranular Version
invictus
by invictus  2-27-2007    1
More reviews of clipmarks: One from Yahoo Finance (via Business Wire) and one from Webware. I loved Rafe Needleman's review at Webware and the "supergranular version" naming. :-)

Clipmarks Group in Second Life
invictus
by invictus  12-13-2006    26
Yes, our community is now expanding its boundaries in this virtual world ;) Clipmarks User Group was founded yesterday and it has 4 members by now (one of our first members was the most loved person of SL and our fellow clipper, Linden Lab's SL Community Executive Torley .) If you are a SL resident as well as being an active clipper, make a search in "groups" and join. You'll not only have a cool "Clipmarker" tag just above your head, but you'll get your free Clipmarks t-shirts and a steamy Clipmarks mug as well. :) The group was founded for communication between CM users in SL, as well as organizing special events (like "Mojito Nights" ;) ) and many other activities.... And there may also come new surprises of course ;)

Weird error
invictus
by invictus  10-12-2006    2
Since I installed the latest FF extension some days ago, I've been getting this message when I choose "Live Clips" or "My Clips" from the toolbar menu. I can only access to the site by selecting "Dashboard" or "Top Clips". No problems with IE and Flock. Has anybody experienced something like that? I suspect my Firefox installation has been screwed up lately.

Pals! Go write your own Clipmarks experience!
invictus
by invictus  7-9-2006    15
As you see on the clip, some idiot out there apparently went to the Firefox Add-ons page and wrote a negative review of Clipmarks, giving it 1 out of 5.... 1 out of 5 to Clipmarks? This is crazy and since this review is at topmost now because of being the latest, it misleads people who would like to learn about Clipmarks extension. Some of us have already posted our reviews but there are still very few, based upon the genuine experiences of Clipmarks users. OK guys, let's go to Firefox Add-ons site and tell our own experiences and our own feelings about Clipmarks! Don't forget your 5 votes ;) It's very simple; just a quick registration and you can write your own reviews.

Keeping the climate of Clipmarks
invictus
by invictus  5-28-2006    54
Considering this comment from Jason on one of the recent clips: What is blowing in the Clipmarks winds that breeds so much animosity lately? At least this thread got all the way up to 9 comments before it turned nasty. I think he is damn right. We mustn't allow this, and keep the mild climate of Clipmarks which makes it unique on the net. A little bit more tolerance, more understanding and a dose of humor could help us keep here as it has always been. This is not a criticism or complaint for anybody; I include myself in it, because I know I have been rude to some other members here a few times - which I later much regretted. Jason directed my attention to a potential problem that has began appearing on the horizon and I wanted to share my worries with you, that's all.

Chris Sherman, Executive Editor of SearchEngineWatch, reviews Google Notebook and also mentions Clipmarks with a few words: "If you really like the community based sharing approach, check out Clipmarks, a service that combines a clipping service with an active user group that comments on clips and rates them."

Spreading the word
invictus
by invictus  5-16-2006    12
Actually, this is not an idea for Clipmarks team but for us users: We like this thing, right? For most of us, Clipmarks has become an essential "tool" just like Word or Winzip. So I think we can do better things for spreading the word (I know, most of us has already been doing this). Adding a "Cliproll" to our personal sites/blogs is fine. (We can also add cliprolls for specific tags, related to the content of our site, instead of just putting public cliproll.) We can place mini-banners or buttons on home pages. What I'll suggest is, about linking to news items or websites on our blog entries: I think, instead of directly linking to the news source, we can first clip that story/article etc. and then link to that specific clip at Clipmarks. It sounds like a good idea to me, for spreading the word more efficiently but I'd like to learn your opinion. Any "more creative" and smart ideas for letting other net folks to learn this cool thing called Clipmarks?
