POPSDoes Foreign Aid Work for the Millennium Development Goals? For years economically developed nations have subsidized development in emerging nations and the net result is they are still emerging. Yes, these countries have created new markets for their products but developing countries still wallow in poverty. To achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) we need to move towards educating people to their fullest ability and consider a UN proposed idea of a Global Value Added Tax (VAT) where the wealthiest nations contribute a larger share and these funds are used to improve the standard of living in the countries where development is slow and there exists a disproportional amount of underserved peoples. The Enoch Olinga College (ENOCIS) believes that Education: Is the Tool to Break the Chains of Poverty.

POPSAsk for a Pay Raise --in a Second Language
A second language is extremely import when it comes to increasing earning power. ENOCIS believes that lack of communication or not speaking the same language is the root of many of the world's problems. To this end, the Enoch Olinga College (ENOCIS) is offering scholarships to Spanish speaking students to learn ESL, English as a Second Language, created for the underserved peoples of the world to counter the high cost of language learning of companies like Berlitz and ELS, the English Language Center, the scholarship is available to all qualifying students. Different than these expensive language courses, after a successful completion of the three on line language modules, the ENOCIS program permits a student to apply for a scholarship at ENOCIS associated universities to continue their studies. Spanish speaking students may learn more about the language scholarship at www.becas.enocis.org and other information is available on the ENOCIS web site www.enocis.org

POPSCosta Ricans cast votes on free trade with U.S.
The Free Trade Agreements have their pros and cons. They open new markets for US products and also benefit the signing parties, in this case Costa Rica and later Panama. Consumers in the signing partner countries are benefited because their economies are opened to a global economy and free trade system which in many cases will remove protectionist policies such as high import taxes on staple products such as rice. BUT it will force local producers to become more efficient in production methods, and remove artificial pricing of local products which build in high profits for the rich, making the rich richer. Negatively effecting the NAFTA are US subsidies on products making their products cheaper. What should accompany any Free Trade agreement is ALSO an economic trade agreement to assist negatively affected nations initially with economic subsidies to producers and in the long run an intensive training program so that affected producers can become more competitive on the world market.
