POPSHow our brains fill 'gaps' Interesting read on how the brain works. Makes me wonder if this phenomenon increases or decreases as sight impairment goes up. Likewise, would people whose depth-perception is already affected by disease (or whatever) still experience this effect?

POPSBrain activity boosted in injured brains by implant This is really cool. An electrical implant boosts brain activity in trauma patients with brain injuries and allows them to regain consciousness and even talk and react to their surroundings by laughing, etc. The human body is amazingly resilient.

POPSStrok study sheds some light on left-right brain divide This is fascinating to me. I had a left-brain stroke almost five years ago, with only little lasting damage: some right-side weakness. Initially, I had difficulty speaking and remembering the names of objects and what their function was, but that has all seemed to clear up as my brain swelling went down. From this report, it would seem that right brained strokes are worse.
