Unhappy America - The Economist print edition

    by hitchhiker08  7-29-2008
Well-said: "The faster China and India grow, the more American goods they buy. And they are booming largely because they have adopted America’s ideas. America should regard their success as a tribute, not a threat, and celebrate in it."

Vedanthangal - oldest bird sanctuary in India
    hitchhiker08
    by hitchhiker08  5-9-2008
Best of all, villagers close to the sanctuary enjoy a symbiotic relationship with the migratory birds. Some have been quoted as saying they don't want any factories to ever come up in the area, as this will scare away the birds - like the birds go out in search of food, so they too (villagers) will go looking for work elsewhere! Their forefathers also helped identify poachers and had the British issue banning orders!

Kidney transplant racket - Doctor held
    hitchhiker08
    by hitchhiker08  2-7-2008
In continuation with the earlier clip about the racket being busted, thankfully comes the news of the Doctor's arrest in Nepal. These are the kind of people who bring a bad name to the medical profession. India otherwise is gaining popularity (especially Southern India) for medical tourism. Treatment is economical, along with facilities that compare with the best in the world.
