POPSPanoramio - great free service Greta new service. Upload your pictures and share by locating it on a map. Example http://www.panoramio.com/map/#lt=39.928889&ln=116.388333&z=5&k=2&a=1 It becomes more more exciting when looking at the results form Google earth, just add new network link and use this URL http://www.panoramio.com/panoramio.kml Now, when you enable it (check it), wherever you have your view point, you see pictures, which people uploaded and linked to that specific location I do not think it repayment for Flickr, its different service, and its nice. Also I see they have ads by Google, so everyone is happy, we get free service and they get their share, that is how it needs to be.

POPSPerhaps the Coolest iPhone App Yet If you have an iPhone 3GS or Android device you can install the Layar app for free and then search for "recovery" or "sunlight" within Layar to find this layer. The layer works best near large cities where you are most likely to find recovery contracts, below is an example of what it looks like on the streets of Washington DC. This data is taken from the recovery.gov Where Is The Money Going? map which provides a KML file containing all recipient reported Contracts. As of October 30th this data will be updated with the final contract, grants, and loans. How We Made It If you're a developer you might be interested in how we made this. Fortunately Layar makes it quite easy and we've taken a further step to make it even easier if you're already using Django. http://sunlightlabs.com/blog/2009/recoverygov-contracts-your-phone/

POPSTwango + Google Earth! I've got an enail today from one of the Twango developers with this message: "Today we are announcing the ability to visualize Twango media and members on Google Earth! First, you must have Google Earth installed. From any channel page, simply choose the Subscribe link and click on the Google Earth Icon. On Windows, this will cause Google Earth to launch and load up the feed. On OS X, this will put an alias to the KML feed on your desktop, which you have to click to load into Google Earth. Check it out!
