POPSScientists find bugs that eat waste and excrete petrol “Our plan is to have a demonstration-scale plant operational by 2010 and, in parallel, we’ll be working on the design and construction of a commercial-scale facility to open in 2011,” says Mr Pal, adding that if LS9 used Brazilian sugar cane as its feedstock, its fuel would probably cost about $50 a barrel.

POPSWhy we need high oil prices I know this sounds crazy, but i honestly believe that high oil prices in the short term (1-5 years) is a very good thing if it forces us to find alternatives. I am definitely concerned that if oil prices drop temporarily, the momentum behind alternatives such as wind and solar will die off - leaving us exactly where we are today - way too dependent on oil and way to harmful to our environment.

POPSDNA test shows Hitler skull is that of a woman A year later, skull fragments were dug up by Russian forces which seemed to confirm Hitler had shot himself in the bunker. In 1970, the KGB cremated Hitler’s remains except for the skull fragment. Dr Bellantoni was sceptical about the theory the skull fragments belong to Eva Braun, who was with Hitler in the bunker where he supposedly died. "There is no report of Eva Braun having shot herself or having been shot afterwards. It could be anyone. Many people were killed around the bunker area," he said.

POPSWhat do you remember? what if someone got knifed in the petrol station? Then we become witnesses to a crime. And our ability to recall these minor details may have a significant role in authenticating our memory of the offence.

POPS'Fuel battery' could take cars beyond petrol ts negative electrode, or anode, is made from vanadium boride, which serves double-duty as a fuel too. But unlike the flowing fuel of a fuel cell, the material is held internally, like the anode material of a battery. The vanadium boride reacts with a constant stream of oxygen, as in a fuel cell, provided by the positive electrode, or cathode. This brings in a supply of air from outside. The cell has a theoretical energy capacity of 27 kilowatt hours per litre, compared to 9.7 kilowatt hours per litre for gasoline. But both approaches are limited by practical factors to smaller figures.

POPSWaste water plus bacteria make hydrogen Hydrogen at the moment, is generally produced from Hydrocarbons and can also produce greenhouse gases. The Bacteria produce hydrogen from vinegar in a way that is environmentally friendly, and is a method of using renewable organic material, It uses 10% of the energy that is used in Hydrolysis, where hydrogen is produced only using an electric current

POPSObama reaches out to Muslims
This president is incredible. Just when i thought the slow starvation of over a million and a half people for over a year would never be mentioned by a U.S. politician or media - he makes it clear it has to stop: a real flow of food, medicine, building materials, petrol, etc. has to be done, for real. Now, just when it seemed thehideous propaganda of a Global Religious War might take hold...a "War Against Islamofascism," - President Obama goes on Arab TV, talks about having family members who are Muslim, talks about living in the largest Muslim country in the world and says we have to "repair relations.' The U.S. media has a cliche about measuring the 'First Hundred Days,' -- but with President Obama we could measure the actions of the First Ten Days and have more substance and better policies than Bush's eight years, 4sure. Note: The First Ten Days would include the result of his meeting today with the Republican leadership in Congress....also a better attitude and good ex

POPSDog who was set alight & left for dead to face his torturers in court "Their attack was so vicious that the Perpignan court authorities have already ruled that they should remain anonymous for fear of reprisals. 'They have cause widespread disgust, and there have already been threats of violence made against them' said a local police spokesman. 'Mambo was clearly looking for help when he went missing. He approached the pair because he is extremely friendly, but they showed him nothing but cruelty. 'He was held down by the woman, and then the man poured petrol over him, and set him alight. 'He was left for dead, but animal aid workers were alerted and managed to save him. He has made an amazing recovery. People are so distressed by what happened that 200 marched through the streets of Espira-de-l'Agly village in protest last week." This despicable pair face up to of 6 months in jail! That's not nearly enough. The laws need changing.

POPSStaff Who Emit Over CO2 Limit Have Pay Docked
The maximum that an employee can earn or be fined has been capped at 100, but is likely to rise once staff have grown accustomed to the idea. WSP, the global engineering consultancy, has been conducting the rationing scheme among 80 of its British employees for almost two years. In the first year the overall carbon footprint of participants fell by 10 per cent. The company is discussing its scheme with several FTSE 100 companies. Related Links Passengers face new tax to halt rise in air travel Storing CO2 could be Britain’s next boom industry The idea of personal quotas for carbon emissions is being advocated by the thinktank the Institute for Public Policy Research. Everyone would be given a number of free “credits”, to buy gas and electricity for their homes, fuel for cars and plane tickets for holidays. Those who did not use all their credits could sell the excess to people who used more fossil fuels. Those who exceed their ration pay a fine for every . . .
