POPSThe Greying of Canada Will there be a national strategy to cope with the massive numbers of aging Canadians or creation of a national home-care program for seniors? "The older we get, it seems, the longer we want to live – and, indeed, are living. Like almost every other developed country, Canada is greying, big-time, as the population bulge known as baby boomers closes in on senior status, with the first wave turning 65 in 2011. They will live longer than their forebears; not only has Canadian life expectancy doubled in the past century, to 82 for men and 85 for women, but many more of us will live to be 100." "I tell old people: you have to pay attention to what you like, what gives you pleasure. I love clothes. I love food. I still cut out recipes even though I can't cook any more. I love to read. If you love reading, you've got it for life. I'm grateful to my friends and my children. I know there are grand gardens around the city but I couldn't be happier with my little garden."

POPSWhy the rich are rich and the poor are poor "Judith: Will this help Joe the Plumber? ...You know — the one who is not named Joe, is not a licensed plumber, and would benefit from Obama's tax plan? Steve: Of course not. Your average plumber makes $48,000 a year. Apart from Mafia enforcers, no one named Joe the Plumber is rich. The bailout is designed to help Alexis the Investment Banker, Jason the Hedge Fund Manager, and Thatcher the Trust Fund Nitwit. Judith: And why should we should help them? Steve: This is the natural order of things. The rich, not the poor, should have money. Otherwise the rich wouldn't be rich and the poor wouldn't be poor. As we have witnessed, disturbing the natural order of things creates instability and leads to economic chaos. " by Steve Clifford

POPSTravel Alberta To See These Unique Attractions! When you are making your vacation plans, check out what Alberta has to offer: "Alberta offers a rare treat for the seasoned globetrotter who's craving something new. A seemingly endless expanse of bitumen-laden sands — coupled with the powerful scent of oil from refineries wafting through the hazy air — makes Northern Alberta a truly one-of-a-kind destination. " "some of the unique attractions that await travelers to Alberta: Black sand beaches, toxic lakes and clearcut forests. Until now, this kind of vacation destination was merely the stuff of science fiction; but now, it can be experienced first-hand." Watch the video!

POPSHow to Properly Place People in Jobs * If they are staring out of the window, put them in Strategic Planning. * If they are talking to each other, and not a single brick has been moved, congratulate them and put them in Senior Management. * Finally, if they have surrounded themselves with bricks in such a way that they can neither be seen nor heard from, put them in Government. :D

POPSScots Rightfully Proud of Indianapolis 500 Winner Franchitti Apparently the rain was in his favor. The Scots' First Minister congratulated Franchitti and added that the "characteristically Scottish weather may have aided him to victory". :D An added romantic touch to his victory: "Oblivious to the ongoing downpour, his wife, the Hollywood actress, Ashley Judd, walked to greet him barefooted and soaked through. The scene could easily have passed muster as the closing frames to one of her own films."
