POPSAnimal bordellos draw Norwegians "A farmer who sells animal sex said he is extremely surprised that foreigners are ready to travel so far for it. Norwegian veterinarians know of at least 124 cases of animal sex abuse in Norway. " --I always wondered how long it would take before the relationship of Gene Wilder and THAT sheep affect curious men! (from everything u wanted to know about sex -woody allen --(incredible how dirty this 1972 movie really was--bestiality, exposure, perversion, and S&M get their moments in the sun-- There was supposedly another vignette in this film, "What Makes a Man Homosexual?", with Woody & Louise Lasser as spiders (Louise as a black widow), and Louise eats him after they have sex.)

POPSBeware the Credit-Industrial Complex BusinessWeek reported on a student whose bank, Pittsburgh's PNC, allowed him to charge $230 on his debit card even though his account was in the hole. PNC charged him $217 in fees for the privilege. A PNC spokesperson says such a policy "helps our customers avoid embarrassment." The student said he would rather have been embarrassed than gouged.

POPSKangaroo Abuser Cites Man's 'Dominion' A reward has been offered if anyone knows anything about Tyson's whereabouts. As for the laws, the defense and the cruelty itself? Where to begin? Zoos in Canada only have regulations for native animals such as bears or coyotes. Keepers have no rules for exotic animals, including lions, tigers or kangaroos. "McElroy was brought to court for her manner with native animals and unfortunately it has nothing to do with Tyson's well-being," she said.

POPSWe can agree on one thing: WE HATE HOMOSEXUALS It's amazing how groups of people that would otherwise be mortal enemies seem to be able to come together when it comes to declaring their hate for homosexuals. And most of the people that are protesting the loudest are doing so because they're trying to suppress their own secret urges.

POPSCanadian child-sex offender to be released on bail?!! Bail for this convicted child-sex offender who is wanted on similar charges now in Thailand??? WTF  If the Canadian jurisprudence system doesn't want to keep this criminal locked up they should send him to Thailand to face the charges against him there. I doubt that the Thai court would release him on bail. Sheesh.

POPSSome Canadian Schools Wanna Sell Soap Does your child wanna go to MacDonald's Fun Meal High? Or perhaps Walmart's Smart Price Middle School? What kind of thinking is taking place in Ottawa these days? Public educational institutions should not be turned into gigantic commercial billboards for the sake of raising funds. Come on folks in Ottawa-Carleton, come up with something more sensible and realistic. Creativity is one thing, but this kind of thinking is just plain crass.

POPS$100 billion more for an unwinnable war: Congress caves to GWB Sanchez says that IF America commits AT LEAST 100,000 troops for 6 or 7 years and IF there is dramatically improved US and Iraqi leadership we may be able to salvage a stalemate. WTF. "A Congressional study has found that despite billions spent on training, Iraq has just 6,000 troops willing to operate independently from the coalition forces - with the rest refusing to fight unless backed by US firepower. The study indicates it will be years before Iraq has an army capable of battling the rebels." Hilary, Obama and 12 other senators voted against the $100billion bill, but were outnumbered by the hawks and the spineless. It's so, so frustrating and depressing to watch America go down the tubes this way.

POPSArresting a 6-yeaer-old? Aw, get real! Is this nuts or what? What was the big emergency that a 6-year-old and to be traumatized in such a brutal manner? It's hardly as if this was a life and death emergency where a delay of an hour or so was gonna make any difference whatsoever. Some people let their badge get in the way of their judgment. I fear we are more and more turning into a jackboot society.

POPSGot any nude photos of your baby? Shred them. Now! Several people, all of whom I'd objectively call "innocent," have been investigated by the FBI, humiliated, arrested, and effectively destroyed by scandal when photo-developing and computer-repair shops discovered that they had photographed their young children naked. One father lost custody of his kids for taking a photo of them mooning him. The argument is: "we all have to view innocent photos through the eyes of a pedophile, for the good of the children." Effing scary. I mean, I've taken several pictures of my son in the bathtub, and according to this article, that makes me effectively guilty of child pornography. Better take those shots off of Snapfish.com.

POPSBigotry and discrimination: case in point
The author of this letter to the editor in Indiana doesn't see himself for the bigot he is, but he reveals a still all too prevalent way of thinking among "God-fearing" people in the Bible Belt. I was raised among people like this, but somehow managed to escape to a more truly christian (small c, not C) way of viewing society. When I read letters like this I am angry and sad. When I see a growing movement of radical Christians who teach hate and judgmentally accuse "nonbelievers" of the thoughts and actions that they possess themselves (projection?), I am also afraid. The statement "When somebody reaches into my pocketbook and steals what God himself has placed there, and I do nothing to prevent that from continuing, I am guilty of sinning against him and my family. It is a direct attack upon our livelihood and I am expected to put a stop to it." is chilling. This paper requires a paid subscription to read but not to submit letters to the editor: editorial@therepublic.com

POPSHeiress, with $5 mil trust, claims she can't afford college Jacqueline Cooke, daughter of late Redskin's coach Jack Kent Cooke, lives off of a $5 million trust left in her name, which pays out $200,000 annually. Jacqueline says this can't cover her expenses and she cannot afford tuition at her college, so now she is suing her father's estate, which has placed most of his money in a foundation to fund scholarships for needy students. POPSProtecting trademarks big business for C*^ts Go C*^ts! Or is it Dolts? They may claim to not want to dampen enthusiasm, but they have done so—very effectively. Screw the NFL and the Super Bowl and the Colts and all the other sports organizations that so zealously guard their trademarks that they forget who their supporters are (or were)—their fans. When churches and teen organizations can’t even have a party to watch the Not-So-Super Bowl because the NFL fears someone besides it will make a dime, even if that dime just pays for the refreshments or goes to charity, then they have crossed the “delicate line”. They are not being good sports.

POPSChurch viewings of Super Bowl sacked by NFL This is so wrong! It really tarnishes the image of the NFL , and turns it's big event into a Not-So-Super Bowl. We should boycott the Super Bowl in protest of their petty rules. Shame on the NFL!!!

POPSDoctor sacrificed dog for salespeople This doctor's unethical actions, legal or not, demonstrate his lack of empathy and respect for animals and life. The term sociopath comes to mind. I know people like him, people who insist that they have the right to maim and kill animals in the interest of science and who refuse to use readily available alternatives. They get their jollies playing God with the lives of innocent creatures.

POPSPolar Bears Still Killed for "Sport" & Profit cont'd from source: "Sixteen of this community's quota of 35 polar bears are reserved for sports hunters who are each willing to pay $20,000 U.S. for the thrill of taking part in a polar bear hunt. In October, local hunters in Resolute Bay drew names out of a hat to choose who will participate in this year's sports hunt. They'll receive $2500 each for their participation, while the rest of the fee goes to the outfitter, airline and tour organizer. Ordinary hunters take the remainder of the polar bears"

POPSLA Clergy Abuse Settlement The Archdiocese of Los Angeles said this month that it would pay $60 million to settle 45 cases that dated from prior to the mid-1950s and after 1987 - periods when the archdiocese had little or no sexual abuse insurance. Good grief, is there insurance for everything What next, murder insurance?

POPStrips For Killed Soldier's Families Questioned He says he found that Kerr was wanted in Arizona for failure to pay child support. Arellano says, "he owed about $50,000 in child support. It just struck me as incredibly hypocritical that a man who is organizing something that will help out children doesn't really care about his own biological children."

POPSGuns 'n' Houses...what's next?? What a hook. Just what society needs--further glorification of guns. Only a realtor or used car salesperson would stoop so low and think themselves to be so clever. Speaking of stooping so low, are BJs next? Or has she already tried those and found that they weren't incentive enough?

POPSMADD Volunteers Blow Whistle on Mad Murie
"When the public donates to local chapters the money stays in the community and helps fund services for victims and their families.... chapter leaders said they are trying to get the message out to donate locally to avoid the big cut in each donation taken by head office. Chapters have "red ribbon" boxes that take donations for the local group. However, a move over the past two years by head office to spread its own boxes (offering chocolate medallion mints instead of red ribbons) throughout Ontario is angering local volunteers. It is unclear how much the for-profit company that manages the national boxes takes from each cash donation." "Murie also, volunteers say, said that the Canada Revenue Agency regulator had given them a clean bill of health following an audit in 2002-2003. But a copy of the revenue agency's letter to Murie at the conclusion of the audit...states that MADD made "incorrect allocations of expenditures" and confused fundraising with charity." more at source

POPSNo Soy For My Boy!! WTF! I was amused, though, by Rutz's parting comment about his "devil food": "P.S.: Soy sauce is fine. Unlike soy milk, it's perfectly safe because it's fermented, which changes its molecular structure. Miso, natto and tempeh are also OK, but avoid tofu."
