Gay Congressman's Spouse Denied Benefits
geeknoob
by geeknoob  10-19-2006    3
So, apparently, at least as far as spouses and pensions go, the rights of a Homosexual couple are likened to espionage and treason. Either that, or they need to pay for extra insurance to protect their rights to leaving a pension to their spouse. Something that, it seems, Heterosexual couples can do automatically? Am I missing something here?

A map where you can e-mail the location of some-one's trash, that could be your next treasure. Anything from an Ethernet hub in NYC, to a toilet in Brooklyn, broken glasses, and sometimes just plain raw materials.

Microsft Cuts Deal with Novell to Support Suse Linux
geeknoob

My only question is - what about the "safety" of those that prefer Red Hat-based (CentOS plug!), Debian-based, or BSD-based (excluding Suse / SLES) distros?

NY Teen Sues the Record Industry
geeknoob
by geeknoob  2-7-2007
"After the case started to get messy, particularly when it became clear that Patti didn't know how to turn a computer on, let alone file share, the music lawyers dropped its case against her." And apparently decided to target her son instead... When will the RIAA learn that the more they make something "illegal" and the more difficult they make playing and obtaining music (via DRM), the more people will turn towards piracy?

If nothing else, it only *levels* the playing field for him, as opposed to giving him an "unfair advantage"! Couldn't that be spun as "discrimination due to illness" by lawyers?

The Hug Shirt
geeknoob
by geeknoob  10-27-2006
Well, the shirt itself looks like it was created by Cingular (whether it had anything to do with it or not, I'm not sure), but since it's tight-fitting, it seems like it could be worn underneath your "real" clothes. :)
