Not a "I left half the steps out because I'm lazy" explanation. Very well done. Works for Iron too....German spy-free Chrome. Download Iron for Linux here...in alpha, like its Google twin.

Getting some Linux smarts is probably a good idea. This is an unusually clear article on how to install Evernote in Linux. Worked for me, don't know about these offline issues some people commenting about. I'll edit this with my experiences on that. So far, so good.

Tech Trend: Shanzhai

I think it's wrong to dismiss all Shanzhai as pirates. I think some would be hard, ruthless and criminal. Others would be innovative dreamers and doers. I like the description in the article "they run with the attitude of “if you can do it, then I can as well”. Does Washing Really Reduce Pesticides?
fergalbarry
by fergalbarry  9-2-2009
I'm warming to this topic. Scald fruit with boiling water, and you'll often literally see the chemicals as the heat changes the compounds and makes them visible. But ya need fruit for a good diet, don't ya? And I hear some of the "organic" stuff isn't "really" organic! Dilemmas more important than Mac or PC? Sadly, they're out there. :(

Beginner's Guide To Linux Command Line

Been listening to all that hype from the Linux cult that it's now as easy to use as Windows? Don't believe a word of it! Pretty soon you're gonna find some piece of your system is "missing" and there ain't now Windows Update or self-extracting package to help you. This can happen even if you're trying to do something as simple as install flash to watch YouTube. Still, like most cults, probably better to learn a bit about them rather than declare war on them...

The company is smaller than I thought. You'd have to wonder if they made a Symbian application would it help them a lot? This is special pleading. I use Nokias and love them. Possibly there is some feature missing in the Nokia OS that makes it hard? Or is it just iPhones are cool, but a tiny market?

Gabriel Lavoie drew my attention to this on the TWiT FriendFeed. We have been clamoring for this for years. We were just ignored.
