POPSThomas the Transformer Engine The Ebay.co.sg auction (bit.ly/f9sZ2) for this item has expired, but it's still cool. Just in case anyone's wondering, that's not Thomas. The blue one is too long to be Thomas. I think it's probably Edward, but maybe Gordon. The red one is James and the green one has got to be Henry. I saw this because Airam F. (a.k.a. haraya) twittered about it (bit.ly/j7nEB).

POPSStuffed plush bedbug, only $9 This is one of the weirdest concepts in novelty gift items I've ever come across. They also have a flea, a louse, a "bookworm" (actually the larva of a common furniture beetle, a wood-boring beetle), and a very cute dust mite.

POPSA scarf made to look like bacon! What a great idea! Made of "21.5 micron merino wool" for that luxurious, bacon-on-skin feeling. Unfortunately it's sold out. The creator's comments: "It looks like a real slice of bacon, with all the striations of fat and meat.... Seriously, do a search on 'bacon scarf' and look at the other bacon scarves out there. They use a paltry two colors, and they don’t look as realistic as this!" Wow... The stuff you find on Twitter...

POPSFigure out who took a Flickr photo from the photo URL Sometimes you'll come across a link to a photo hosted at Flickr but not have any idea who took the photo or where to find it on the Flickr site. This method will solve the problem. (Note that you can often also solve it by Googling just the numeric portion of the photo URL, e.g., if you want to find who took the photo hosted here: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2411/2237119567_e1e640b249.jpg you could do a Google search for 2237119567.)

POPSInstinctual eye styles in stock herding dogs A typology of instinctual eye styles: strong-eye, sticky-eye, medium-eye, roving-eye, and anti-eye. Explains how various dogs use eye contact and gaze styles to control herds. A totally random find, but fascinating.
