POPSThe value of keeping things simple To me, there is no better example of this than the Gore vs Bush election. Bush consistently presented his ideas in simple terms that people could understand. Gore, on the other hand seemed to have a better overall grasp of the issues, but articulated them in long, often confusing, answers.

POPSWhite House schizophrenia over global warming Very interesting clip that highlights to tension within the Bush administration. There seems to be a strong division between those who see reality and those who see whatever the oil companies want them to see. Let's pray that our next president will err on the side of humanity.

POPSBush's attempt to keep us hooked on oil Man, Tom Friedman just nails it. This is exactly what the Bush administration is trying to do and it scares the heck out of me. I strongly suggest that you click the source link to read the entire article.

POPSWild-Eyed Bush Thumping Chest: "I Am the President" The comments about the other ranting in the article: ome big money players up from Texas recently paid a visit to their friend in the White House. The story goes that they got out exactly one question, and the rest of the meeting consisted of The President in an extended whine, a rant, actually, about no one understands him, the critics are all messed up, if only people would see what he’s doing things would be OK…etc., etc. This is called a “bunker mentality” and it’s not attractive when a friend does it. When the friend is the President of the United States, it can be downright dangerous. Apparently the Texas friends were suitably appalled, hence the story now in circulation.

POPSIraqi prime minister takes a slap at Bush This must be more of that negative propaganda coming out of iraq. We're totally winning this war. It's obvious. No, really, it's true. This is just the media portraying things in a bad light. I promise you, Bush will explain it all later today.

POPSDead with Ned This move was so stupid even the liberals at Slate are starting to figure it out. Fortunately for republicans, I do not think think the logic will set in.

POPSStocks tumble...Bush's approval ratings to follow? Bush's approval ratings have been tumbling despite the stock market gains over the past year. I think that if the market begins to tumble Bush could really sprial down at an accelerated pace. Kind of think that people tend to not get too angry until they feel it in their wallets. DISCLAIMER: I am not bashing Bush nor am i hoping this happens. Simply making an observation that seems logical to me.

POPSIt sure is ugly in D.C. Hard to keep track of who is doing the investigating and who is being investigated these days in Washington. What a mess!

POPSAnti-War protest in NYC What i am most afraid of is that horrible communication and terrible execution by Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc. have now put us in a position where we can't make the necessary moves we need to against countries like Iran. This just might go down as a classis example of "careful what you wish for, you just might get it." Bush wanted his war with Hussein. He got it. Now we're paying for it...and i suspect we will be for a very long time.

POPSI guess Fox really does speak on behalf of Bush whatever!! the title should be White House Spinmeister! when they announce that there is a new Department of Energy Independence that has clout, resources, influence, etc. then i'll care. until then, it's all hot, polluted air.

POPSBush's excuse for Katrina: who believes those damn weather reports? I love it. They are actually going to defend Bush by claiming that weather reports are never dependable. This isn't the damn local news guy saying it's going to snow tomorrow. This is the head of the National Hurricane Center briefing the president of the united states!!! I could just hear the conversation between George and Laura after the briefing: Laura: "what did they say to you George? Did you understand it all?" George: "sure honey...but you know those weathermen are always wrong. i'm going for a bike ride."
