POPSAmerican Apparel CEO wants to fire ugly employees - so what? Ok, so i know i'm about to sound like a jerk, but from a legal perspective i honestly don't have a problem with this. These companies pay zillions of dollars in advertising to show beautiful, sexy people wearing their clothes. Nobody complains that they pick the best looking people for these ads because it's understood that people are foolishly convinced to buy products they see hot people wear. So, why not be able to maintain that policy when it comes to people who work in their stores? Seems consistent to me.

POPSDoes news now break too fast? via @kenyarmosh Ken makes a great point - one that has serious implications. The one aspect of this that disturbs me is that i think there is a trend towards becoming desensitized to news - it's sort of becoming a game - and to giving less time to think and talk about things because we're always looking for the next hot story.

POPSThe biggest threat to twitter is quantity over quality (via @StevenHodson) I believe there is a point at which the number of people you're following begins to work against the quality of your experience. By building a platform that has always tilted the playing field towards amassing as many followers as possible, i think twitter's greatest concern should be that they have been steering people towards a worse user experience. Going forward, i believe that social media sites need to prioritize high quality friends/follows ("sources" on amplify) over high quantity.
