POPSOut of touch... The defense budget is a sacred cow... one with a TON of fat. I should know, I worked on Star Wars in the 80's and 90's ... It's expensive and won't/doesn't work.

POPSIt's here... The military industrial complex is already here: in spades. I spent most of the 80's and 90's working on (some high profile) space systems... While some have finally made it to orbit, others are still around -- unlaunched, but milking the government for 100's of millions. Large defense companies are parasites on our economy and society.

POPSGet them outta there... All these economic advisors: they are the ones who got it WRONG 8-10 years ago ... We need a new perspective on the financial markets and how to get out of this mess...

POPSLack of ideas... The republican party has gotten "fiscally responsible" all of sudden. Where were they when THEY helped to create this mess?

POPSSober advice... While the drunken frat party was raging, some out there were making predictions based on reality....

POPSThe long road back... Krugman is usually right on -- and I agree with his analysis. With a weak manufacturing base, we've relied on the money-movers to prop up the economy for far too long. They don't really create wealth, they just redistribute it. I honestly don't know if we will come back --
