About me
If something is characteristic for me it is researching and learning all the time on many different fields. And I am pretty skilful on different fields, too. I am contemplating on word SHARE. This is why I support: http://www.share-international.org and http://bashar.org/
Why I use Clipmarks
I don’t like linear things: linear travelling (high-roads), linear news (TV, newspapers), linear thinking (any kind of “-ism-s”) etc.
Linear is narrower, nonlinear is freer; but it is truth, too, that linear is sometimes more efficient and nonlinear more chaotic; so it is not wise to be too linear in practice of nonlinearity…Ah, this funny world of paradoxes…

I found the way information comes together on Clipmarks is very creative and exciting combination of linearity (researching pages and clipping) and nonlinearity (researching clips, popping and commenting).
Superb idea, great implementation! And it is still under development…

Feeding Cows, Not People
duvelic
by duvelic  11-25-2007    1
More from article: The American fast-food diet and the meat-eating habits of the wealthy around the world support a world food system that diverts food resources from the hungry. The cattlemen also tell us, “If grain were not fed to livestock, more grain would not necessarily be available to feed the hungry.” (41) In reality, however, if grain were not fed to livestock, it—and/or the resources needed for its production—would be available for a variety of uses, including feeding the hungry. “Were it not for grazing animals like cattle, hundreds of millions of acres of U.S. grazing land would have no productive value. No more than 15 percent of the grazing land could be used to produce crops.” (42) Actually, however, the food value to humans of growing grain and other crops for human consumption on the 15 percent of land currently used for grazing that would be suitable for such crops would be comparable to the food value now produced by grazing cattle on the entire amount.

Ice Age Possible for Scandinavia?

From article: Humans could neither develop agriculture or permanant settlements and in turn would move southward onto other parts of Europe, being pushed by the colder, unstable temperature from home. As the population moves, fights and even battles would break out within the mass migration. Resources within other countries would decline because of the sudden increase in population within their own country. In defense, some countries would declare war. ... By the end of the decade, Europe's weather would be more of a mirror image of Siberia's or northern Canada's then what it looked like in the past. Unfortunately, the duration of this process could take decades and even centuries.

This permanent self-orientation is reason why pure capitalism is anti-ecological by definition, too.

Interview with Dr Ervin Laszlo

"We’re running out of time now." __ More from article: ...We are seeing water shortages, more and longer droughts; farmers are struggling to produce food. Deserts are growing. Pollution is a terrible problem. Another process which we see is the growing and unsustainable gap and polarization between rich and poor. Look, too, at the levels of poverty and overcrowding in many of the world’s largest cities. So, if you take any one of these and other processes, and look at the real facts and then extrapolate from them, it is clear that we cannot go on in this way. It is impossible. That’s why I, and many others, say that we have reached a crucial moment and it is more than high time for fundamental change. The problem is that some experts and some politicians think we can still deal with each problem separately. They believe that we can take one issue at a time and solve that, then the next and so on. ...

quotations on the theme of trust – from Maitreya
duvelic
by duvelic  6-17-2007
More clips from article: __ Thus, men will learn to know and to love their brothers, seeing them as little different from themselves. __ Sharing by its very nature creates trust because it is an expression of the Love aspect of God…. __ By sharing you create the trust which allows you to trust other people. If you show trust, you receive trust. By sharing what you have with others, it creates that trust without which no major decisions will ever be made. __ Without trust there will never be a consensus on the overriding problems which concern this world, which can only be met internationally. __ Without trust there will never be a consensus on the overriding problems which concern this world, which can only be met internationally. __ Trust is the acceptance of life in all its pain and beauty. __ Trust is the sure knowledge that all is working towards the good, that all is under law, and that that law is administered with justice. __ Learn to trust and banish fear.

We have the technology to neutralize the greenhouse effect!
duvelic
by duvelic  6-9-2007
Continuation: ...But we're not going to be waiting for Maitreya and the Masters to give us the technology to make these changes. We can't just sit back and say: "They're going to give us the technology to clean up the planet, so we don't have to do anything." BC: When we accept the principle of sharing, and when that process is actually working out in the world, we will be given the gift of new technologies. I do not mean that we will be given an instrument and shown how to use it. We will be given the secrets of how to create this technology. Then our advanced scientists will develop it. There is a new technology the cold fusion process that is in the offing. I would say that in a very few years from now cold fusion will produce a rather large proportion of the earth's energy needs. But after that there is another technology which Maitreya calls the Technology of Light which will provide unlimited energy for all our needs. ...
