POPS $1.25 mil in the Drink Yeah right it's the bird's fault, not the man for bending down under the dash. Now, if the bird had dropped some poop down on his head then maybe...no it's still the man's fault. I was stung by a bee inside my blouse one day while driving, and I had the common sense to pull over. Even burning cigarettes are not an excuse. But a cell phone just is not a good cause. If I'm not mistaken I believe that it is illegal to use a cell phone while driving in Texas. If not not should be. It should be illegal in all 50 states !

POPS Hey... Want a Baby? The expression "life is cheap" seems to be true these days. Why in the hell are people like this even allowed to be parents? I guess they didn't think to place an ad in the newspaper. They could've got a lot more from prospective baby seekers. Don't attack me for that statement. It's more a reality than you might know. Anyway...I'm just glad they don't have it any more (the baby that is). But knowing how things things go in our wonderful courts these days, it's possible they can get custody restored. That is if they want the poor thing.

POPSThey Still Don't Get It Heartless morons in Illinois. Just had to ruin the driver's day, with a load of BS. I hope those folks never have to deal with the reality of any kind of Cancer in their family. Plus I'd like to know just who turned him in.

POPS "it's a disgrace ". says Mrs Witherall widow of Mr. Witherall. Mr Witherall's family said it makes a mockery of the justice system. However, A Prison Service spokesman said if a prisoner is found to have a mobile it is confiscated and they are placed in solitary confinement and have any privileges taken away. Sounds to me like they didn't find it.

POPS Cops in a Wii Bit of Trouble Your Tax dollars at work. A detective cataloging evidence repeatedly put down her work to bowl. When she hit two strikes in a row, she raised her arms above her head, jumping and kicking. Kind of makes me wonder if all the drugs were categorized or taken home along with some of that stolen property. Ha ha on you Police jerks.

POPSThe Naked Chef in the Fattest Town on Earth This is probably the unhealthiest country on Earth as well. Processed foods are killers that's for sure. It was nice of Jamie Oliver to say that "they are not stupid or ignorant". I think that may well be the case. However in W. Virginia, one's income does come into view. Some folks down there don't have enough money to keep up there food cache, and aren't able to cook from "scrathch". Meals are on a day to day basis. Those school lunches are probably the best meal of the day for some of those kids. However, I'm sure this guy has never been to a real "rural" W virginia town. They don't get fat there. When you don't have enough food for the family it just kind of works out that way.

POPSDon't Worry Be Happy if you are a communist in ZAF
Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande is often seen wearing a Mao cap and is known for breaking out into his favorite tune: "My mother was a kitchen girl, my father was a garden boy. That's why I am a communist." But his new wheels have soured his relationship with his close ally COSATU, the country's largest labor organization. COSATU has asked ministers to return their costly cars and instead opt for cheaper ones favored by Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan, who bought two cars for the same price as Nzimande's one. "Nzimande was the one least likely to go on a profligate expedition ... when the (SACP) often rails against the excesses of unchecked capitalism," said a Wednesday editorial in Johannesburg's daily newspaper The Star. But the SACP has defended Nzimande, saying the German luxury sedan was bought on the recommendations of the police VIP protection unit. The rule book for ministers also allows for such purchases. over the limit....sorry not much more anyway.

POPSFaster Than the Speed of Whaaa? Yes I know it's a pic of the New York skyline, but, what do you want from a Chinese newspaper? My friends in Johannesburg use those Internet cafes to message me, we can't use the chat because it takes so long. When they use Google's gmail, on their cellphones, it is almost immediate. I don't understand much about this stuff, but I hope things do get better for that country. I don't know where they even got the $mil to get that underwater cable. I guess Zuma is trying to pull it off though. He has a lot on his plate already.

POPSWhere's Waldo? "I guess you could cut off the battery packs," he said. "But it's so specialized it really doesn't have many other applications." There are two other drones with similar capabilities at Mote but they belong to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration -- and there are no funds available for them to perform Waldo's mission. "We'd have to go back to sending people out in boats to collect water samples," he said. "That's not a very efficient way to do it." Waldo, a scientific robot used to detect red tide, was last heard from on Monday. Mote is offering a $500 reward. Well it had a pretty long working life I suppose. It was probably eaten by a Great White Shark. That's my guess, anyway.

POPSDon't Try to Feed These Birds I don't thinl they'll come to your feeder, but they may peek into your windows. lol I wouldn't count on though, the stupid things only have a 20 sec. fly time. Oh yes, but our generous goverment is giving the creators a couple of mil to develop it just the same.

POPSColossal 1,000 lb Squid
These scientists could be called real cut-ups. 1,000 Pound Colossal Squid Thawed in NZ y Calimari-sicles for 10,000, please. Scientists from New Zealand have begun the process of thawing and dissecting a squid corpse that they’ve kept in a freezer for the past year. It is huge, weighing in at half a ton. The mysterious “colossal squid,” (the larger cousin of the giant squid), was caught last year by fishermen, who were obviously quite shocked to see such a beast in their nets. This specimen, at 26 feet long and 1089 pounds, is a far cry from what scientists project to be a full size for the species– over 15m long. The researchers, are planning to remove the beak, stomach, and sex of the animal before putting it on display in a tank of formaldehyde. Scientists are excited about the possibility of having found the fist-ever male of the species, and the largest colossal squid to have been examined to date. Last year they were able to dissect a 660-pound female, the first

POPSMother Nature vs.The Automobile I am a weather fanatic. I'm posting this to share some of it with you. I had to leave out some interesting captions, because of the char. limit. Some of these pics are not as obvious as they look. I was unable to undo the captions I first clipped, because it is a slideshow on separate pages. You may click on any picture for details though. The last one looks b&w but, it is really an ice covered tree on top of a car.

POPSBeaver Fever This is called "Beaver Fever, because when (in Oregon and other Northwestern areas)it is found in cold water streams where the Beavers live and defecate . Just one more reason why you should not drink from open streams without treating the water first. Those little purification tablets they sell, do not kill protozoans only some forms of algae and bacteria. If you have ever had this disease ("giardiasis"), you may pray for death. It causes projectile vomiting and diarrhea so profound that the dehydration could possibly kill you. In the small mountain town I was living in in the 1980s, there was an outbreak in the water system reservoir, and brother let me tell ya it wasn't pretty. In a town of 3,100 there were over 25 reported cases. No one died, but no one ever forgot it either.

POPSSon, Get Me a Hooker I love the fact that this idiot is still in the can, with only a $750 bail ticket. Nothing was mentioned about the boy's mother.

POPSOops They Did It Again "It’s not quite clear was this game devoted to teach Christianity or to show the flaws of the concept. It is aimed to “children age 8 and older” and is being sold for $2.00 in Russian toy stores." Above is the conclusion of the story. Oops they did it again.
