POPS"Alien" Jellyfish Found in Arctic Deep Jellies are among the least understood groups of animals on Earth, Raskoff added. "They seem about as alien as animals get." Scientists plan to research more of the unexplored Arctic waters before warming and ice melt drastically transforms the ocean environment, according to NOAA's Web site. Biologists are realizing that jellyfish are more common predators in the oceans than thought.

POPS What Junk I love this stuff. It takes a master's eye to be able to see something great out of a pile of junk. Just collecting the stuff is a tremendous endeavor! Then storing it, Wow!

POPS "Looked Like Mars" Oh man... they've got it bad down under! And, they are expecting another one later this week.

POPSThe New North Star The skies above Grants Pass are much more clear than in the Metro Portland area. So much so, that a person is able to get a time lapse picture as lovely as this one. Fact is, most of the state has nice air. But the Willamette River valley is just a long vertical string of towns and polluted areas. Unfortunately that's because it's where most of the human population is. But, there's no way I don't love my state.

POPSWhere's Waldo? "I guess you could cut off the battery packs," he said. "But it's so specialized it really doesn't have many other applications." There are two other drones with similar capabilities at Mote but they belong to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration -- and there are no funds available for them to perform Waldo's mission. "We'd have to go back to sending people out in boats to collect water samples," he said. "That's not a very efficient way to do it." Waldo, a scientific robot used to detect red tide, was last heard from on Monday. Mote is offering a $500 reward. Well it had a pretty long working life I suppose. It was probably eaten by a Great White Shark. That's my guess, anyway.

POPSBicycler's Dream Home Away From Home I like this one. It weighs less than I do, not counting the bike. The only thing that scares me is the Iron Lung look. I want my head inside with the rest of me. Maybe he cut that hole as an after thought that some people are longer than 5'6". Still a nice idea though.

POPSShopping Cart Camper There are some obvious flaws here, however the biggest one I can see is the fact that thse carts are property of the store they were taken from, and here in the US it is considered as theft to remove one of them from the store's parking lot.

POPSA Dancing Plant This is an amazing plant, and we may even be able to own one! I knoe of only one person who has several in her home in Brighton Beach, UK. So cool......

POPSSuper Bacteria Check this baby out ! Deinococcus radiodurans is a fabulous bacteria. It may well be our servant to help us explore new worlds. These are the same bacteria you may have already heard of, but have forgotten. Back in the '70s they were adapted to help clean uo those nasty oil spills. Now we are heading into new territories, such as cleaning water & oxygen, and adapting to humans for survival on other planets. If you really want to see what's going on click on the links to further your education about them and your curiosity.

POPSMother Nature vs.The Automobile I am a weather fanatic. I'm posting this to share some of it with you. I had to leave out some interesting captions, because of the char. limit. Some of these pics are not as obvious as they look. I was unable to undo the captions I first clipped, because it is a slideshow on separate pages. You may click on any picture for details though. The last one looks b&w but, it is really an ice covered tree on top of a car.

POPSWater Bears Looking at water under a microscope can be fun, but sometimes it can turn your stomach. I don't care what anyone says, I like the chlorine in my drinking water. In the '40s and 50s my grandparents would take us out camping in the woods, and we would fill our canteens from the stream. Then I got my first microscope." NEVER again" I said! Ironically, they were the ones who gave me the instrument for xmas.

POPSRainbows In order to keep the clip public, I had to leave out most of the captions, and all of the story. But you know what they say " One picture is worth a thousand words".

POPSWhat we don't want to hear, but the Birds already know This is a very large article and cannot be represented well enough to do it justice in a 1,000 character clip. PLEASE go to the web page by the link at top of page to enjoy the entire page and the rest of the recommended content provided. I beg you to look at this page. If you want proof...here it is! In your face scoffers!

POPSLiar Liars Please read the entire articlr before passing judgment. The Us Bureau of Land Management is in TOTAL denial on this subject, and claims not to have enough money for clean up, and further states that moving the stuff around is probably more dangerous than just leaving it there in a relatively remote area; despite the thousands of tourists & off-roaders every year.
