    Ethics Rebellion in Psychology
    jklugman
    by jklugman  10-12-2007    3
The votes on a resolution — by the psychology faculties at Earlham, Guilford and Smith Colleges — are an unusually public effort by departments to criticize collectively a key decision by their national association. A number of other departments are considering similar moves. Good for Earlham, Guilford, and Smith.

    Condi Is a Hypocrite
    debbyski
    by debbyski  9-2-2007    20
It's widely whispered in inner circles that Condi is a lesbian. I find her lust for power disgusting and her "moral values" which are not for herself but others even more disgusting. I think she will eventually end up as one of the biggest Republican scandals ever. It's just a matter of time.

    The Danger of Cognitive Blinkers
    Kore7
    by Kore7  6-24-2007    3
From Steven Pinker's preface to What Is Your Dangerous Idea?: Today's Leading Thinkers on the Unthinkable . In this regard, it's disconcerting to see the two institutions that ought to have the greatest stake in ascertaining the truth — academia and government — often blinkered by morally tinged ideologies.

New York Times: "highly disturbing pattern of bias."
    righthand
    by righthand  9-18-2007    1
'Support for Israel is ironclad, absolute, and uncompromising on everything including its worst crimes of war and against humanity. Open debate is stifled, and anyone daring to dissent or demur is pilloried, ridiculed, called anti-Semetic, even threatened, ostracised, and finally ignored. In his seminal work on Middle East affairs, "Fateful Triangle," Noam Chomsky put it this way: "....Israel has been granted a unique immunity from criticism in mainstream journalism and scholarship...."' Simply put, the NYT is a rag unworthy of the tees needed Today, it's the pillar of the corporate media and main instrument of fake news making it the closest thing in the country to an official ministry of information and propaganda. No media source anywhere has more clout than the Times, none manipulates the public mind more effectively, and where it goes, others follow. It's most visible supporting all things corporate, foreign wars of aggression, and everything favouring Israel it views one

NSA Secret Files Revealed after 40 years
    righthand
    by righthand  6-15-2008    4
The National Security Agency Central Security Service has after 40 years revealed its Secret Files. June 6th was the 40th anniversary of the murder of 34 innocent servicemen and 173 casualties , some very serious. The miracle was that the ship didn't sink with all hands as the lifeboats had been deliberately destroyed when launched. WW3 might well have started as US nuclear armed aircraft were intending bombing Cairo as revenge for the sinking of USS Liberty by the Egyptians as planned by the real perpetrator, Israel. Fortunately the Liberty got off a signal in time.

    Guns in Class: Professor fired
    righthand
    by righthand  3-5-2008    2
"predictable has been outrage from the right. Last month two leaders of extremist Jewish settlers in Hebron, Baruch Marzel and Itimar Ben Gvir, announced that they had enrolled on Hassan's course. "I would love for him to ask me about my army service," said Marzel. "I can only assure you that he will be the one walking out of the classroom." The army added its voice too, with senior officers, including the Chief of Staff, Ashkenazi, putting pressure on Sapir College to publicly rebuke the film-maker and punish him. A letter from the head of army personnel, General Elazar Stern, accused the college of failing to act with "proper determination" and urged that Hassan face "sharp, public, official condemnation." Stern added that Hassan must be made to apologize or be sacked, otherwise the army would end its funding of places for hundreds of soldiers who attend courses at Sapir." ...AlterNet

Read My Lips, Ahmadinejad may have to say.
    citizenbfk
    by citizenbfk  9-24-2007
Thanks God we've finally got to hear the truth, directly. Ahmadinejad said the Holocasut happened, so I hope we never have to hear that again. He also did not say Israel should be "wiped off the map," but rather that he's concerned about Palestinian suffering and believe there's need for a 'vote,' on rsesolution of the issue, a vote which includes the Palestian people. Gosh, I wonder if we have been fed propaganda, like WMD's, etc. All the Talking Heads and Cheap Shots have been about the Columbia president's rude introduction. whether he should have been allowed to speak, etc. But the substance is the issues and to make it clear, he said: 1. Holocaust did happen 2. Palestanians are suffering and need to work democraticaly together with Israel. Of course, he has the nerve to add: "The Holocaust happen in EUROPE, and what does it have to do with the Middle East, Iran and the current issues? Fair enough, iIMHO. Jews deny Jesus. Should we nuke 'em for that? NO. & no Holo
