About me
Recently, a motivational speaker/trainer interviewed me for her internet radio show. I am not a polished media speaker by any means and I was very nervous, but the skeleton of the book I am writing in cooperation with my family is outlined in the show, click here
Why I use Clipmarks
I love my stolen minutes looking through clips. At first, Clipmarks was just a tool to collect information for research on writing my book. But, over time, I have grown to appreciate the connection with many other Clippers. I wish I were not chronically busy with my job so I could interact more.

Along with my sister and my mother, we are writing a book about the strong connection between poverty and mental illness.

Predicting Psychosis in Youth

by dmegivern  1-9-2008
When Virginia Tech occurred, I was so annoyed by people saying that you cannot predict psychosis. Of course, you can if you have solid mental health training. Maybe not perfectly, but enough to know when someone needs help.

Altering Hormones to Treat Depression

I can't believe it has taken doctors so long to examine stress hormones in relation to depression. The evidence on cortisol alone is very strong.
