Benjamin is a cofounder of both CODEPINK and the international human rights organization Global Exchange went to Afghanistan in Oct this year and she was told by the women of Afghanistan they needed the troops to stay, they were fearful if the troops pulled out. Code Pinko did not like what they heard from the Afghan women. They were hoping they would say it's OK if we are killed, if we can be used as cannon fodder for Code Pink. Bunch of spineless A-holes who believe no war is ever justified. They should be exiled to Iran for a few years, to live as some of the oppressed people they claim to be for.

How about opening up the insurance industry to some competition by doing away with the anti-trust exemption which would allow the capitalists among them to sell insurance across state lines?? How about limiting the coverage for elective medical procedures, like nose jobs, breast enhancements and the like and, yes, abortions?? People who want their insurance to cover elective procedures should have the ability to add that to their basic coverage as an "extra" (for an additional out of pocket non-deductible premium). Obama & Congress could care less about really fixing the problem, Obama simply needs a victory....any kind of victory. If they did they would not shy away from tackling the major obstacles, tort reform, allowing the purchase of polices across state lines and cracking down on fraud associated with health-care.

Patton hemming and hawing as if he were lecturing at an academic symposium before issuing his decision to make a decision to increase troops and "finish the job." Further muddying the waters is Obama's self-serving pronouncement that the military strategy in Afghanistan under Bush lacked clear vision, sufficient manpower, ample resources, and was carried out "with not enough urgency." This would be more apt criticism if it were not issued by a president ostensibly gauging the number of troops to be sent based on polling rather than in accordance with the requests for additional troops from top commander in Afghanistan General Stanley McChrystal.

Their impact on ordinary citizens manifests openly with the mass celebrations in Islamic countries when "infidels" are killed, or Muslim terrorists are released from prison. It is fanatics from the Muslim world who slaughter children and non-Muslim tribal groups daily in Darfur, and are progressively taking over segments of Africa, be it Nigeria or Somalia. Islamic fanatics bomb, behead, murder, and carry out "honor" killings. They also stone rape victims and homosexuals. Muslim fanatics teach in the schools the virtues of becoming suicide bombers and acquiring the coveted status of a shahid (martyr).

POPSDisarming the Velvet Revolution I felt sick to my stomach. But then, communism in any country did not enhance people's characters. It deformed them. Everybody tried to survive as best as they could, sometimes compromising their own values and dignity. I do not know how that person feels today. Perhaps there is even shame and regret. When I look back I do not regret being born in a communist country. Yes, we were deprived of freedom and many other things. But it was an intense life experience which taught me to appreciate what I have later in my life. I also feel privileged that I lived through and participated in some of the most important and exciting historical events of the 20th century. The only regret I have is that my father indeed did not live to experience it. He died of cancer in 1982.

We used to win wars through attrition.
